Detroit Adult Entertainment: Detroit school official meets with families of shot teens

July 1, 2009 at 8:49 pm | In Detroit adult entertainment | No Comments

Another summer school student, 15-year-old Bria Wilson, said she was standing at the bus stop when she heard the gunfire.
She said she was facing away from the gunmen and ran away after the shots were fired. But she saw a 16-year-old male friend lying on the ground, bleeding.
“They were so close – it almost hit me,” she said.
Detroit Public Schools spokesman Steve Wasko said there was “nothing that we’re aware of at this time” linking the shootings with any dispute at the school.
He said the shootings happened about 2:15 p.m., about 15 minutes after summer school students were dismissed for the day.
Imam Abdullah El-Amin, who co-owns the Numan Funeral Home near the intersection where the shooting took place, said drug-dealing, prostitution, and “hopelessness” are common in the area.

Detroit Strip Clubs: Hip Hop CEO Jerome Almon Accuses Eric Holder and Michigan AG Mike …

July 1, 2009 at 3:24 pm | In Detroit strip clubs | No Comments

According to Almon, although Attorney General Eric Holder and Michigan Attorney General Mike Cox have irrefutable evidence that Judge Waterstone framed Almon, both have inexplicably refused to interview the rap mogul or file charges against Waterstone. Almon suggests it was their offices and the State Department that provided Canada Border Services with Almon’s arrest jacket which lead to Canada’s rap intelligence unit barring Almon and his label from Canada. It is this tolerance for corruption by the federal and state authorities that led to the demise of the US auto industry. Companies actually have a budget for bribery for doing business in Michigan, the most corrupt state in America.
A Detroit ABC affiliate, WXYZ reported that Cox is under heavy suspicion for blocking State Police investigators from interviewing the main suspect in the baseball bat beating of murdered stripper Tamara “Strawberry” Green, Carla Kilpatrick – the wife of Detroit Hip Hop Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick. The Department of Justice Inspector General, Canadian Justice, and Public Safety Ministers are now investigating the sex and corruption-filled, Duke Lacrosse team-like scandal.

Detroit Strip Clubs: Fed official may have given Conyers’ aide inside information

July 1, 2009 at 3:24 pm | In Detroit strip clubs | No Comments

Gerald K. Evelyn, a Detroit criminal attorney representing Greene, did not respond to a call or an e-mail Monday.
Riddle is a former top aide to Detroit City Council President Pro-Tem Monica Conyers, who on Friday pleaded guilty to bribery conspiracy and announced her resignation Monday.
Conyers admitted she took about $6,000 in cash for voting in favor of a $1.2 billion sewage sludge hauling and treatment contract awarded to Synagro in the fall of 2007. Conyers switched to supporting the contract, allowing it to pass 5-4.
Riddle, who has said his telephone was tapped in connection with the Synagro investigation, could not be reached for comment Monday. He is under investigation as a possible conduit for payments to Conyers and has denied accusations he shook down strip club owners who needed a City Hall license transfer.

Detroit Strip Clubs: Dan Thomasson: GOP scandals a boost for Mitt

… Baloney,” an old friend said when he first heard it. “He’s off on the trail all right but it has nothing to do with hiking.”
The voters of the state now have a decision to make: Should a top elected official be allowed to remain in office after leaving the state’s borders without telling anyone where he is going or how to reach him in case of an emergency? That, of course, is Sanford’s real crime and one that probably should carry a stiff penalty. Other than that there is strong evidence of sheer stupidity here.
One might compare this to the antics of another Southerner, Gov. Earl Long of Louisiana, who carried on with a stripper and took a tour around the nation visiting other governors, sometimes with a sack over his head, after escaping from a mental hospital by firing the superintendant. But at least Long was a bit “pixiated.”

Detroit Strip Clubs: Chrysler workers return to Windsor, Ont. plant

When workers arrived for the first of two shifts, they were greeted by a black-and-white banner, which read “World Class Manufacturing, Welcome Back Chrysler Group LLC employees.”
Their shifts began with a one-hour town hall meeting, which included remarks from union and management as well as a videotaped message from Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne.
“He was on the video and it was basically to get back and do quality work,” said Tom Woodall, a 41-year employee who is planning to retire in August.
“It was really good, really upbeat.”
Some nearby businesses, hit hard by the plant shutdown, sent employees to greet returning Chrysler workers with flyers and promotional offers. “When the plant was down, it was awful,” said Rose, a dancer at T-Zers strip club. “Business fell about 50 per cent.”

In Detroit, the Student Becomes the Teacher
Thu May 01, 2008 at 06:31:47 AM PDT
Quite a few of Detroit’s dysfunctional city government leaders have been making the national news for months now because of their crazy actions.  Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick is in a class by himself, embroiled in numerous scandals involving bid rigging, police misconduct, perjury, adultery and the suspicious murders of not one but TWO strippers.
Criminal behavior aside, City Councilwoman Monica Conyers, the wife of esteemed Congressman and House Judiciary Chair John Conyers may be one of the most disrespectful, egotistical, and inappropriately behaved elected officials we’ve seen around here in a long time and that’s really saying something.  She has gotten into at least one bar fight with a woman after demanding the woman’s boyfriend buy her a drink.  She’s had public altercations with other City Council members and even threatened a member of the city’s Pension Board with her gun.

Detroit Strip Clubs: Conyers admits trading Synagro vote for cash

July 1, 2009 at 3:24 pm | In Detroit strip clubs | No Comments

Though the bribery conspiracy charge Conyers pleaded to only specified envelopes containing a few thousand dollars in cash she accepted in a McDonald’s parking lot and at the Butzel Family Center on Kercheval, she admitted to additional illegal conduct in her plea agreement.
That document says she and her aide, identified by sources as Riddle, received payments from “persons who sought contracts, money and/or favorable entity” from both the City Council and Detroit’s General Retirement System, where Conyers served as a trustee. Their intent was that those who paid “would perceive that (Conyers) would be influenced by the payments in her official actions,” the plea agreement said.
In addition to Synagro, allegations against Conyers have included receiving jewelry from a Detroit-based pawn shop and an attempted shakedown of the owners of a Detroit strip club who sought a license transfer.
