Detroit Adult Entertainment: Prostitution Bust In Troy
July 25, 2009 at 2:37 pm | In Detroit adult entertainment | No Comments… Troy police have arrested three people on prostitution and other charges. Two females and a transgender were apprehended. All three are free on bond right now.
Police say they were monitoring “exotic services” Websites for postings of illegal escort services and learned that the suspects were advertising that they would be in Troy this week.
The suspects were registered guests at the Somerset Inn. A woman from Williamston, Michigan, a woman from Florida and a 42 year-old transgender from New York face prostitution charges.
In addition, police say the transgender is an illegal alien, and federal officials are considering deportation proceedings.

The Detroit News says in a story published Wednesday that its review of court, tax and property records indicates names on the Aug. 4 primary ballot also will include three felons, including one who served 81 months in a federal prison for racketeering related to prostitution.
Another candidate was convicted of second-degree murder.
The News says the majority of the candidates don’t have blemished backgrounds.

Why does the NAACP come out with this resolution below?
The civil rights organization passed a resolution on behalf of Conyers and his Performance Rights Act legislation last week, saying the congressman “has been the subject of unscrupulous and unfounded attacks,” including radio spots and comments mentioning his legislation in the same breath as his wife, former Detroit Councilwoman Monica Conyers, and her recent plea to a bribery charge. Prosecutors cleared him of any wrongdoing.

There will be a court appearance today for a Windsor man charged with second-degree murder.
Kenyatta O’Neil Brown turned himself in to police yesterday.
Twenty-four-year-old Nicholas Ingram was found stabbed to death in the parking lot of a strip club early yesterday morning.
Police say they are continuing the search for a murder weapon.
