Detroit Strip Clubs: Sam Riddle’s mouth keeps running despite fed probe
August 9, 2009 at 7:48 am | In Detroit strip clubs | No CommentsWhy, then, is Riddle a central figure in the metro Detroit federal corruption probe out front and center, shaking hands at the market, high-fiving well-wishers at the movies, spouting profane one-liners into any microphone he can find?
In one sense, the opinionated political consultant cant help himself. In another, putting his mouth on cruise control is the only strategy he knows.
Riddle faces 10 felony charges, well more than anyone else snared in the regions latest corruption probe. If federal agents have it right, the irrepressible, 62-year-old Detroiter is the bagman.
The feds say he spread bribes to help a pawnshop in Southfield, and hand-delivered the cash that purchased Monica Conyers vote on a billion-dollar sludge contract. It was Riddle, agents allege, who acted as fixer for a restaurant owner, a strip club agent and a real estate developer to buy influence in Detroit.
