Yankees 5 Red Sox 2 Dead men limping. That’s what the Red Sox are today after dropping four straight to the Yankees. Across a six-month season there are losses, bad losses and losses that freeze a team’s baseball marrow. That’s what the Yankees did to the Red Sox last night with a pulsating, come-from behind 5-2 win that was witnessed by 48,190 and highlighted by back-to-back, two- out homers from Johnny Damon and Mark Teixeira in the eighth inning off gas-throwing right-hander Daniel Bard. When was the last time the Yankees wanted the Red Sox to stay in The Bronx? With a lineup that couldn’t score in a Nevada brothel armed with a fistful of hundreds, the limp Red Sox bats were overmatched in the final three games of the series, scoring two runs in the last 33 innings. The Yankees’ seventh straight win upped their AL East lead to a season- high 6 1/2 games over the reeli …

Detroit Strip Clubs: Lawyers for slain dancer’s family see police file on death

Lawyers for the family of slain stripper Tamara Greene finally got a chance to view her Detroit Police Department homicide file Wednesday.
However, whatever they saw most likely will not be made public for some time.
“I won’t be permitted to discuss what I see,” Birmingham attorney Norman Yatooma said Wednesday.
Yatooma and Robert Zawideh represent family members of Greene, an exotic dancer who was shot and killed in a Detroit drive-by shooting on April 30, 2003.
Greene’s family alleges in a federal lawsuit that Detroit police deliberately botched the investigation so her killers wouldn’t be held accountable for her death. Police officials have denied the charge, saying the case still is under investigation.
Ex-Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick, police officials and lawyers for the mayor and city deny allegations they have interfered with the homicide investigation. The case remains unsolved.

Theo Fleury wants to resume his NHL career after a six-year absence.
Fleury had a troubled, brief tenure in Chicago during the 2002-03 season that included an altercation in a Columbus, Ohio, strip club. He is preparing for NHL training camp next month, but he doesn’t know if any of the 30 teams will invite him for a tryout. He will also need to be reinstated to the league before he can take that step.

Detroit Strip Clubs: Attorney reviews police files on dancer’s death

They plan to return in about a week to complete the review, said lawyer Norman Yatooma, who saw the file, along with a private investigator and expert witness.
Yatooma would not discuss what he saw in the file, which he viewed under strict secrecy provisions ordered by Chief U.S. District Judge Gerald E. Rosen.
“Neither the file nor any information it contains shall be disclosed to any persons not participating in the review … absent an express order of the court authorizing such disclosure,” Rosen said in a written order.
Detroit police have said that premature release of the contents of the murder file could jeopardize an ongoing investigation.
Greene, linked to a long rumored but never proven stripper party at the mayor’s Manoogian Mansion in the fall of 2002, was killed in a drive-by shooting in Detroit on April 30, 2003.
