October 6, 2009 at 5:37 pm | In Detroit escorts | No CommentsTarockoff remains a target of the federal investigation, but has cooperated with federal agents and helped secure audio and video recordings that will be used against the three other men.
At a court hearing last week, U.S. Magistrate Judge Mona Majzoub ordered Divers to undergo drug testing and treatment, as well as to clear up within 30 days several warrants that are out for his arrest from various law enforcement agencies.
At Monday’s hearing, U.S. Magistrate Judge Mark Randon asked Divers how he was coming along with getting his warrants cleared up.
“If he has not, he certainly will,” Raben said, speaking for her client. “That will be a critical thing.”
Divers’ latest incident occurred Sept. 22 when he was arrested in Ecorse for driving with a suspended license — an infraction he had previously been cited for. At the time, he also was wanted for felony cocaine possession, for smoking on an aircraft and for soliciting a prostitute.
Detroit Escorts: Murder suspect expected to take the stand
October 6, 2009 at 5:37 pm | In Detroit escorts | No CommentsDuring the first day of trial Monday in the courtroom of Monroe County Circuit Judge Michael W. LaBeau, a large picture of the body as it was found that day was displayed on an electronic board.
The disturbing image of the half-naked body floating in a water-filled ditch was displayed prominently in the courtroom. It was too much for the victim’s mother, who turned away and cried.
Monroe County Chief Assistant Prosecutor Jack Simms called 10 witnesses Monday and was expected to call at least that many more today. Defense attorney William Garrett said he was planning on calling perhaps three witnesses, including Mr. James.
During the first day of trial, Mr. Garrett spent much time questioning witnesses about Ms. Woolbright’s alleged drug habit and whether she prostituted herself for money to buy drugs.
“Was she a prostitute?” William Garrett asked John Jacobs, one of the victim’s boyfriends.
Detroit Escorts: Initial psychological responses to Influenza A, H1N1 ("Swine flu")

In data collected only in Europe, 64% greatly underestimated the mortality rates of seasonal flu, 26% believed seasonal flu vaccination gave protection against swine flu. 7% had reduced / stopped eating pork.
3% had purchased anti-viral drugs for use at home, while 32% intended to do so if the pandemic worsened.
Conclusions: Initial responses to Influenza A show large regional differences in anxiety, with Malaysians more anxious and more likely to reduce travel and to buy masks and food. Discussions with family and friends may reinforce existing anxiety levels.
Particular groups (homosexuals, prostitutes, the homeless) are perceived at greater risk, potentially leading to increased prejudice during a pandemic. Europeans underestimated mortality of seasonal flu, and require more information about the protection given by seasonal flu inoculation.

Detroit Escorts: Tigers should still play Miguel Cabrera on Tuesday
October 6, 2009 at 1:38 am | In Detroit escorts | No CommentsI dont know what benching him accomplishes. It sends a message to the multimillion-dollar man that this sort of behavior is intolerable. But it penalizes every other person in the organization, and it penalizes every fan who ever plunked down a dollar to watch this team play. If youre a Tigers fan, I ask you this: How does benching Miguel Cabrera for a must-win game make your life any better? I know thats not necessarily what its about. And I know that personal and family responsibility is far more important than a baseball game. But at the same time, there is the whole innocent-until-proved-guilty thing here. And at this moment, we dont know exactly what went on in the Cabrera home. And we might never.
I do not subscribe to the everyone else does it theory of justice. But that said, Dan Reeves started Eugene Robinson in the Super Bowl a day after he was arrested for soliciting a prostitute. Im going to guess that Giants managers …
Detroit Escorts: Murder trial underway
October 6, 2009 at 1:38 am | In Detroit escorts | No CommentsMurder trial underway
Ten witnesses were called today during a murder trial of a Dearborn Heights man accused of killing a woman and dumping her body in a Berlin Township ditch six months ago.
Two men testified that they considered Jamie Lynn Woolbright, 30, their girlfriend and refuted repeated attempts by the defense attorney who tried to get witnesses to say that she prostituted herself for money to buy drugs.
Was she a prostitute? William Garrett asked John Jacobs, one of the victims boyfriends.
I have no idea, Mr. Jacobs answered.
John D. James, 42, is on trial in Monroe County Circuit Judge Michael W. LaBeaus courtroom. This morning a jury was seated and opening arguments were heard. Although there are no witnesses to the crime or confessions to police, Monroe County Chief Assistant Prosecutor Jack Simms said Mr. James was the last person to see her alive, had lied to investigators and evidence belonging to the victim was found in a car he was driving.
