Attorneys for a proposed Larry Flynt Hustler Club are charging members of Lincoln Park’s city council with holding up the opening of the entertainment venue.
Four members of the council, as well as a city manager, have been ordered to appear in a federal court hearing for not transferring a liquor license to the club, even thought the club has already paid for it.
In a document obtained by The News-Herald, attorneys are asking the city to pay $10,000 a day, with a minimum of $110,000, until the liquor license is transferred. In addition, Hustler is demanding the city to pay attorney fees.

Detroit Strip Clubs: Warriors suspend Stephen Jackson
October 11, 2009 at 3:24 pm | In Detroit strip clubs | No CommentsJackson was suspended for two pre-season games for conduct detrimental to the team after picking up five fouls and a technical in less than 10 minutes on Friday October 9th against the Lakers.
Jackson was seen arguing with Head Coach Don Nelson on the bench before retreating to the locker room for good.
“In my 30-some-odd years in coaching, I never suspended a player before,” Don Nelson told NBA.com. “Maybe I should have a couple of times, but I never have. I try to stay away from doing anything costing players a lot of money. I may have taken $5,000 or $10,000, but I’ve tried to stay away from that.”
In 2006 Jackson was hit in the mouth and struck by a car in the parking lot of an Indianapolis strip club. Jackson fired five shots from a 9mm pistol into the air in self defense. This incident led to Jackson being traded from Indiana to Golden State.

Detroit Strip Clubs: Council hopefuls tout ways to fight Detroit crime
October 11, 2009 at 3:48 am | In Detroit strip clubs | No Comments… I’m hearing complaints at a level I’ve never heard before,” said Brown, who spent 26 years in the department and left as a deputy chief. “Crime is out of control in the city, and it affects every single thing that goes on in Detroit. No business is going to come to the city, create jobs and invest money if we can’t get a handle on crime. Citizens are crying out that we must get a handle on crime.”
By law, the council can’t direct day-to-day operations of the force, but it can approve funding for equipment and programs, work with the mayor’s office and residents and push programs that directly or indirectly impact crime.
Councilwoman JoAnn Watson wants to continue a crackdown on strip clubs; Councilwoman Brenda Jones and primary winner Charles Pugh push year-round, volunteer efforts to patrol streets; Raphael Johnson and Jai-Lee Dearing say the council should improve public lighting; while Councilman Kwame Kenyatta wants better code enforcement of vacant properties.
Detroit Escorts: Ruben Rosario: Retiring Dakota County sheriff says, ‘It’s a young man’s sport’

They have the choice of three channels. And they are watching Montel Williams — married men who seek prostitutes. And they are looking at this and I have a little boil going. I go into the next unit and they’re watching the same thing and I said, OK. I tell the staff, “The TVs are off.” We have a generation of young people with TVs as their babysitter. The staff resisted me. Not the inmates. I did get a note from someone who said I was violating his constitutional rights and I wrote back, “Jefferson didn’t have TVs in mind when he wrote this.”
