The $4.2 million strip club received a liquor license transfer two weeks ago after they sued claiming the city was delaying. A federal judge ordered four council members to adhere to state regulations or face fines.
The Hustler Club is on John A. Papalas Drive and West Outer Drive. The church is across the street on West Outer Drive in Melvindale.
The Halloween-eve event will feature hay rides and skateboarders and will be part of the church’s Turkey Aid program. Visitors are asked to bring a turkey to help feed the needy on Thanksgiving.
A group of ministers will make the trek across the street to pray for those at the Hustler Club. The group has been fighting to keep the strip club out of the area.
Detroit Strip Clubs: Cop alleges dancer slaying coverup
October 23, 2009 at 12:01 am | In Detroit strip clubs | No CommentsYatooma said that Parra gave the same testimony to his office today.
Its more of the horrifying same, Yatooma said. Its memorialized as evidence. What our witnesses are saying, they are saying under oath.
Parra gave the testimony to attorney Mike Stefani on Sept. 3 in a separate lawsuit brought by Officer Ira Todd, who was kicked out of the task force after he claims he established a link between alleged hit man Vincent Smothers and a reputed Kentucky drug dealer who boasted to cops that he had close ties to former Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick.
The Tamara Greene case came up during Parras deposition with Stefani. Greene, nicknamed Strawberry, was a stripper who was shot and killed April 30, 2003, in a west side Detroit drive-by killing. Her murder remains unsolved.

The attorney representing the family of Tamara Greene is asking more questions about how the stripper’s murder was investigated.
Now, Norman Yatooma is questioning Detroit Police Officer Alex Parra under oath about a possible conspiracy to block attempts to solve the crime.
Greene is rumored to have danced at a never-proven party at the Manoogian Mansion and to have been assaulted there by former Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick’s wife, Carlita.
Yatooma is representing Greene’s family in a lawsuit, saying Kwame Kilpatrick and others blocked the investigation. Kilpatrick denies there was a party, and Michigan Attorney General Mike Cox has said accounts of a party were nothing more than urban legend.
