DETROIT — A 38-year-old man from Pontiac is accused of soliciting sex to a minor online after the Michigan Attorney General’s office said he engaged in explicit conversations with an undercover state investigator.
Attorney General Mike Cox said Monday that Russell Lee Bennett thought he was having a conversation with a 14-year-old girl, and made arrangements to meet her in Detroit.
But Cox said state investigators and volunteers from the organization Perverted Justice were staging an Internet child predator sting.
Cox said the Bennett used the screen name “uchi_deshi2000,” said he was a karate instructor and made arrangements to meet who he thought was the girl at a fast food restaurant in Detroit.

Detroit Strip Clubs: Night club admits liability in Detroit DUI case
October 26, 2009 at 3:00 pm | In Detroit strip clubs | No CommentsThe Detroit Free Press reports a unique case of a bar admitting liability in a DUI wreck caused by a patron who left the establishment.
The Pantheon Club, a topless bar in Dearborn, has admitted it was at least partially responsible for over-serving a patron. The man allegedly was vomiting before be passed out drunk at the club. He then left the club in the driver’s seat of his vehicle.
Jackson caused an accident involving 9 vehicles and injuring 3 when he left The Pantheon Club that night. The family of victim Kenneth Brzenzinski, who died in the crash, is now suing the club in relation to an accident that occurred in March of 2006. The plaintiffs say the bar contributed to the delinquency of Ronnie S. Jackson, who is now in jail after a no contest plea to second-degree murder.
