November 3, 2009 at 7:50 am | In Detroit escorts | No CommentsAn undercover investigation targeting prostitutes at South Mississippi businesses providing escort services has resulted in the arrests of nine people, including three men who happened to be in the vicinity of the bust when they were arrested on a misdemeanor drug charge.
Harrison County Sheriff’s Department Lt. Troy Peterson said the undercover sting targeted employees of South Mississippi escort agencies, though he did not want to identify the agencies allegedly involved because of an ongoing investigation. Peterson said the undercover probe was conducted at an undisclosed location.
“We’ve gotten complaints in the past about local prostitution in different areas in Harrison County and decided we were going to target some of the companies,” Peterson said.
Arrested Friday night on one count each of misdemeanor prostitution in connection with the operation were Jody Michelle McKinley, 41, of Gulfport; Shasta Jeanneanc Crowe, 21, of Bay St. Louis; and Shatarra Monique Rodriguez, 26, and Christina Marie Wilkins, 22, both of Biloxi.Peterson said Timothy Daniel McAllister, 26, of Gulfport, and Billy Warren Hewett, 21 …

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Education levies, traffic-monitoring cameras, casinos and livestock oversight are among the big issues that will be decided Tuesday by Ohio voters.
One of the most hotly-contested issues on the ballot is Issue 3, which would bring four casinos to Ohio, 10TV’s Kevin Landers reported.
Under the plan, Columbus, Cincinnati, Cleveland and Toledo would each get a casino.
Supporters say the addition of casinos would create 34,000 jobs, along with millions in tax revenue, Landers reported.
Opponents of Issue 3 say casinos would create social ills like increased crime, bankruptcy, domestic violence and prostitution. They say Ohioans will shoot down the proposal, just as they have done to four similar issues in the past.

There are 100 good reasons to vote no on State Issue 3, which would authorize Las Vegas-style casinos in Cincinnati, Cleveland, Columbus and Toledo.
These are the top 10:
⢠No special-interest group — ever — should be allowed to purchase a special place for itself in the Ohio Constitution. This proposed amendment was written by two out-of-state gambling companies for their exclusive benefit. It would prostitute the state’s basic governing document.
⢠If Ohio ever authorizes Las Vegas-style casino gambling, the people, through their elected representatives, should determine the rules, regulations, tax rates and locations. There was no public discussion or debate over the drafting of Issue 3.

While there’s no question that it could be a lot better here, it could also be worse. As a matter of fact, if Issue 3 passes on Tuesday, our fine city and state will get a whole lot worse.
With the claim that the casino gambling industry will bring jobs to Ohio, there’s little talk about the types of jobs those would be, whether temporary or permanent, minimum-wage or living-wage.
Don’t be fooled. The ordinary Joe or Mary will not be hired to run a craps table. Those operators will probably be transferred from other states. So while those will be jobs, they will not be jobs going to Ohioans.
And do those jobs that casino backers count include prostitution that’s bound to come too?

LINCOLN PARK, Mich. — After years of legal wrangling and controversy, a Lincoln Park topless bar is one step closer to opening.
Larry Flynts Hustlers Club has been at the center of controversy over the past seven years. Some city leaders tried to keep it from opening, and the fight between the city and the club wound up in federal court.
The fight came to an end Monday when the city council approved a resolution recommending the club receive a liquor license.
