With 17 years in government finance, Moreno said, she’s looking forward to putting her knowledge and experience to work for the city.
“We’re going down a slippery slope with the reductions of state-shared revenue and the drop in home assessed values,” she said.
“Lincoln Park is 83 percent residential. We rely so much on our residential tax base. … There is no development going on right now.”
There is one development, however — a Larry Flynt Hustler Club — that continues to be a hot topic around town.
While some council members have been accused of trying to block the strip club from opening, Moreno said she hopes the new council will make decisions based solely on the law.
