Detroit Escorts: Obama visits Pa. to talk job strategy

December 5, 2009 at 4:48 am | In Detroit escorts | No Comments

Unemployment dipped to 10 percent last month, down from 10.2 percent in October. Still, 15.4 million people are unemployed and another 11.5 million are either underemployed or have given up the job hunt, according to labor statistics released yesterday.
“Even though our economy is growing again, a lot of companies are hesitant to hire,” Mr. Obama said. “Some of this is because they’re still trying to get out of the red, because they’re still seeing consumers pull back because they got overextended on their credit cards” and because companies have figured out how to be more productive with fewer people.
One student in the audience had his own idea for economic improvement. During a brief question-and-answer session, the unidentified sophomore asked whether the president would legalize drugs, prostitution and gambling to stimulate the economy.

Detroit Escorts: Obama hails jobs ‘hope’

Obama said at Thursday’s jobs summit that he was not prepared to wait to push job creation measures — but warned that government cash was limited given the size of the deficit so he called on the private sector to help.
Other possible approaches include offering small businesses a tax break to take on new workers for job-intensive energy projects.
Republicans on Friday stepped up their assault on Obama, blaming him for “job killing” policies, including his backing for a cap-and-trade system to cut greenhouse gas emissions.
House minority leader John Boehner said any decrease in the unemployment rate was “encouraging” but he warned of a “jobless recovery” and double-digit unemployment.
In one moment of light relief Friday, Obama made clear that one idea for job creation will not be in his plans — legalizing prostitution and drugs.

Detroit Escorts: Obama Vows to Get Americans Back to Work

… So on Tuesday, I’ll be speaking in greater detail on the proposals I’m sending to Congress to jump start private sector hiring and get more Americans back to work,” Obama said. The Associated Press reports the president will ask Congress next week to cut taxes on small businesses, allowing them to hire new workers.
“I did not run for president to sweep our problems under the rug with the next election in mind. I ran for president to solve our problems once and for all, with the next generation in mind. That’s what we’re doing right now,” said the president.
There was one request the president could not grant.
“Maybe if you checked out some of the statistics about legalizing prostitution, gambling, drugs and non-violent crime in order to stimulate the economy,” one audience member suggested. The president promised that won’t be part of his jobs plan.
