Detroit Strip Clubs: Kids in the Hall

Dickens said he worked for Barack Obama in 2008, the John Kerry campaign in 2004 and both campaigns for Gov. Jennifer Granholm.
Dickens was rather miffed that a reporter brought up the whole Kilpatrick thing, in fact.
A survey conducted in November by the Lansing-based Rossman Group, The Perricone Group and Denno-Noor Research looked at how negative characteristics could harm gubernatorial hopefuls. (Bernero’s name was not included in the survey.) The survey found that Attorney General Mike Cox had the most negative characteristic because of accusations that he covered up an investigation into the alleged beating of a stripper at that Manoogian Mansion “urban legend” party. Dickens hasn’t been associated with Kilpatrick in years (nor has he been linked in any way to the hip-hop mayor’s legal troubles), and Bernero is even further removed from the situation — but Kilpatrick’s name is clearly green poison.

Detroit Strip Clubs: OFF THE BEAT: Police news from around Downriver

December 23, 2009 at 8:36 am | In Detroit strip clubs | No Comments

Police said they were called on a report that a woman appeared to be unconscious in a women’s restroom at the club, 980 John A. Papalas Drive, at about 11 p.m.
A club employee said the woman, 23, was not a server at the club. Neither the club manager nor police would confirm whether the woman is a dancer there.
According to police, the woman’s friend told police that she was in the restroom.
The woman was taken to Oakwood Hospital & Medical Center in Dearborn. The report said no further police action was “taken/needed.”
Paula Rivera-Kerr, an Oakwood spokeswoman, said yesterday that no information was available on the woman. Rivera-Kerr said that meant she either was using an alias or has been discharged.
The controversial strip club opened Dec. 8 after a series of legal go-rounds with the city.
