The Detroit News reports that a deposition requested by attorney Norman Yatooma will resume Jan. 25. Testimony began Dec. 11.
A civil lawsuit filed by Yatooma alleges that ex-Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick, his former chief of staff, a former police chief and other officials stifled a police probe into Greene’s April 2003 shooting death.
Greene is rumored to have performed at a never-proven wild party at the mayor’s official Manoogian Mansion residence in 2002.
Cox and the Michigan State Police investigated the rumored party, but later ruled there was no evidence that it took place.

She regularly sparred with a fellow city councilmember, Monica Conyers wife of Democratic Congressman John Conyers Jr. who recently pleaded guilty to bribery charges. She’s also had her differences with the current city council president Ken Cockrel Jr., her own stepson. He recently called her leaving the city council’s chambers during the strip club debate “the height of irresponsibility” that “shows a high level of disrespect for the people that put elected officials in office.”

It was far from an agreement.” The judge dismissed 91 counts against Ta. But Ta did plead guilty to illegal possession of three handguns that belonged to Yildiz — a Beretta and two Taurus PT100s.

– The Wayne County Sheriff’s Department says they’ve made several arrests and seized a number of vehicles in a four-day prostitution sting.
Wayne County Chief of Operations Ray Washington says it all starts online.
“We basically go up on the Internet and visit these sites and try to find out where the ladies are soliciting gentleman or where men are soliciting women. And we’ll go to the sites and pose as a customer or basically take over the operation after we’ve arrested someone for solicitation, we’ll take over that operation,” said Johnson.
The operation involved local and federal agencies which are members of the Southeast Michigan Crimes Against Children Unit that includes the FBI, State Police and the Sheriff’s Office.

Web investigators say the suspect’s alleged crimes are some of the worst, most graphic they’ve ever seen, according to the sheriff’s department.
The arrest of the man was made through a partnership with the Wayne County Internet Crimes Unit and the Internet Crimes Against Children task force.
Wayne County Sheriff Benny Napoleon has scheduled a news conference Thursday to give additional details on the case and the man’s arrest.
The news conference will also give details on a Wayne County Sheriff’s Office crackdown on Internet prostitution. Nearly 24 people have been arrested on charges involving crimes involving Internet encounters. The four-day operation wraps up Thursday and is targeting people “trolling” the Internet to “further their sex trade,” said sheriff’s department officials.

The tax bill is the latest issue facing the soul music scion. Several media outlets have reported he’s been sued by singer Lou Rawls’ son over a dog attack, fathered a child with a Nevada prostitute and been booted from his mom’s pad.

Teena Keens and Stephanie Cross earlier pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in connection to the Aug. 9 death of Dr. Gary Ceresnie and were sentenced to 10-15 years and seven to 15 years in prison, respectively.
Ceresnie collapsed and died Aug. 9 after stumbling into a Detroit restaurant. An autopsy said Ceresnie died of a heart attack brought on by a beating.
According to testimony at an earlier hearing, Ceresnie traveled from his Farmington Hills home to McGraw Road, in a southwestern Detroit neighborhood known for prostitution. He reportedly offered $40 each to Keens, 32, and Cross, 19, for sex, but instead the women lured Ceresnie to their former home on St. John Street, where Darrell Harris and Kamico Jackson, both of Detroit, were hiding.
