Toronto police are questioning a convicted murderer in jail in Windsor, Ont., about the killings of three Toronto women, police confirmed Thursday. All three women were prostitutes and strangled to death in the 1990s, according to Windsor Staff Sgt. Norm Burkoski.
Officers interviewed Peter Dale MacDonald, 51, a native of Summerside, P.E.I., after he was brought from Kingston Penitentiary on Wednesday to answer to a second-degree murder charge in Windsor. MacDonald is currently serving a life sentence for the April 2000 murder of James Campbell, 63, in Toronto.

Charged 2nd time for same homicide
MacDonald was arraigned in a Windsor court Thursday on a second-degree murder charge, accused of strangling Michelle Charette, 40, in August 2000. Charette’s decomposed and brutalized body was found in weeds near the Ford plant in Windsor, three weeks after she disappeared. Police initially arrested and charged MacDonald with the killing, but days before his trial was to begin in 2003, the Crown dropped the charges, citing a lack of evidence.

Ms Yates was one of several friends, partners and colleagues Mr Marshall has allegedly attacked over the past few years, the court has heard previously.
When asked if Miss Bush was scared of her boyfriend, Ms Yates replied: “Yes, she was terrified of him.”
The 41-year-old, who once worked as a cleaner for Mr Howe, said she rarely saw her daughter during her adolescence because she was under the care of social services until she was 21.
Miss Bush had been pregnant four times since she was 15, her mother said, and her first child died when he was ten weeks old.
She has since had two children, St Albans Crown Court heard.
Ms Yates said she believed Miss Bush had been working as a prostitute since her teens, but she “wasn’t sure” because they were rarely in touch.

Judge denies request for more time to depose Cox in stripper lawsuit
Paul Egan / The Detroit News
Detroit — A federal judge today denied a request to extend the length of Attorney General Mike Cox’s deposition in a federal lawsuit over a slain exotic dancer.
Witnesses in civil lawsuits can only be deposed for seven hours without a court order to extend the deposition.
On Dec. 11, Cox was deposed all day in the lawsuit brought by the family of dancer Tamara “Strawberry” Greene against the city of Detroit, former Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick, and other top city and police officials. But because of numerous interruptions, only a little over three hours of the seven-hour deposition time was used.

Greene, who was linked to a rumored stripper party at the mayor’s Manoogian Mansion in the fall of 2002, was killed in a drive-by shooting in Detroit on April 30, 2003.

A female detective with the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office was posing as a decoy about 5 p.m. Wednesday near Vernor and Oakdale on the city’s east side when she began talking with a potential customer.
The suspect then pulled up in a 1994 Ford Ranger, flashing a badge and yelled at her “to get off the street,” Sheriff Benny Napoleon said.
The undercover detective tried to signal that she also was an officer, Napoleon said, and the suspect fled. An arrest team posted nearby was alerted, and the man was stopped.

There were also bullet holes in the garage behind his daughter’s house. The renter living in the house was home at the time but not hit by gunfire, said Ramey, who heard the gunfire himself.
“You could just hear ‘bang, bang, bang’ and then ‘pow, pow, pow’ from the shotgun, then the car driving away. It was like the Wild West,” Ramey said.
Collins was at work at the time of the shooting but came home just afterward and told neighbors he will be moving out, Ramey said.
“My tenant was calling me telling me there was a dead body on the ground,” said Ramey, who has been reporting problems with prostitution and drug dealing in the neighborhood for years and said he feels the city hasn’t done much about it.
