Detroit Adult Entertainment: Peter Chianca: Jay-OK! Meet the new Leno

In contrast, nine out of 10 respondents gave Conan O’Brien, the man Leno displaced, a 98 percent or higher approval rating, which puts him on par with Jimmy Stewart, Mother Teresa and the Ninja Baby from YouTube. This is despite the fact that only two out of those 10 respondents ever watched his show.
So in order to get back in the good graces of the viewing public, it is our opinion that Jay should immediately undertake the following eight reparative actions:
1) On his first show back at 11:30, he should ask himself, “What the hell were you thinking?” For best results, he should first make sure to first get caught picking up a prostitute, and also, possibly, poisoning the water supply of a local preschool. Both of these would be an improvement on his current image.

A strip club manager on Wednesday challenged Riddle’s integrity, fashion sense and hygiene.
The Detroit News and Free Press report Joe Hall, general manager of field operations for Déjà Vu, took the stand in Riddle’s ongoing corruption trial to talk about a 2006 dinner meeting with the accused at Andiamo restaurant in Dearborn.
Hall, whose company was hoping to transfer a liquor license to a club on Congress, testified Riddle offered Monica Conyers’ City Council vote on the transfer for $25,000.

Strip Club Owners Say Riddle Brazenly Asked For Bribe Money

The president of an international strip club enterprise was the first to testify in federal court Wednesday. He said that Riddle so brazenly solicited a $25,000 bribe from him to help one of his adult entertainment clubs in Detroit, that he thought he was wearing a wire tap.
Jim St. John, president of Déjà vu Consulting, told jurors that he met with Riddle in the fall of 2006 at Andiamo restaurant in Dearborn. During that meeting, Riddle told him and his partner Joe Hall that he worked with Conyers and that they could have her vote to transfer a topless bar license to a club on Congress for $25,000.

The next week, the City Council voted 5-4 against the topless bar license transfer.

Detroit Strip Clubs: Armed thugs bust into home

By Catherine KavanaughDaily Tribune Staff Writer
Women, children hide in closet, tub as front door is kicked in; suspects pose as federal agents.
ROYAL OAK — At least two men armed with handguns kicked in the door of a Dorchester Avenue house after following a woman home from her job at a gentleman’s club in Detroit, police said.
The victim, 27, reportedly was suspicious of two cars taking the same route as her about 3 a.m. Sunday. She ran into her house, locked the door, and called police when she saw two men walk toward her bungalow.
The victim, a greeter at Cheetah’s, took her children ages 5 and 7, into a bedroom closet; the roommate, 19, hid in the bathtub.
They stayed out of sight while at least two men broke into the house in the 600 block of Dorchester.

Detroit Strip Clubs: Sam Riddle’s federal bribery case in Detroit continues to shock

January 27, 2010 at 6:37 pm | In Detroit strip clubs | No Comments

Back in the fall of 2006, two officers with Déjà vu Consulting, owner of a topless bar seeking to transfer the establishment’s lucrative business license into the city, allege that Riddle met with them at a Dearborn restaurant to explain how the city’s new strip-club license transfer system worked. This is how Jim St. John, president of Déjà vu Consulting, described the proposition — under oath is U.S. District Court — earlier today:
“Here’s a guy asking me for $25,000 and he’s wearing a gravy-stained tracksuit,” Hall said. “It was like something out of a bad movie.”
The week following that meeting, the Detroit City Council voted 5-4 against the topless bar license transfer — with Conyers, wife of long-time U.S. Rep. John Conyers, casting the deciding vote against the transfer.

Strip club reps say Riddle wanted bribe

Riddle, 63, was a top aide to Conyers, who had a vote on the strip club license transfer. Deja Vu had hired Jackson as a consultant to help the company transfer the license of an existing strip club, the former Zoo Bar, on Congress in Detroit.

Earlier today, two officials from strip club company Deja Vu Consulting testified they were shocked when Riddle sought what they felt was a $25,000 bribe in connection with a license transfer and became concerned that Riddle might be working for law enforcement.

Records introduced at the trial show that on Nov. 17, the same day Riddle got the checks, Conyers sent a memo to the Detroit city clerk asking for a reconsideration vote on the strip club license transfer.

The strip club principals are suing the city of Detroit in federal court over denial of the strip club license, with the alleged shakedown included in their allegations.

Detroit Strip Clubs: Strip club owners to testify against Riddle

Strip club owners to testify against Riddle

Although the strip club officials, Jim St. John and Joe Hall, refused Riddle’s demand, consultant Jackson, who stood to benefit from the deal, went ahead and gave Riddle two checks on Nov. 17, 2006, prosecutors allege. One check was for $10,000, earmarked for reconsideration of the vote, and the other was for $15,000, as a success fee, the prosecutors allege.
On Nov. 17, 2006, Conyers sent a memo to the Detroit city clerk that said she wanted to reconsider her vote on the strip club license. Riddle cashed the $10,000 check to his consulting firm, Meridian Management Systems, the same day, the indictment alleges.

The strip club principals are now suing the city of Detroit in federal court over denial of the strip club license, with the alleged shakedown included in their allegations.

Detroit Strip Clubs: Riddle trial witness says Conyers pushed for pension fund loan

January 27, 2010 at 5:00 am | In Detroit strip clubs | No Comments

… Conyers believed Kilpatrick “controlled” three votes on the 10-member pension board — those of Beasley, former mayoral aide DeDan Milton, himself recently indicted in connection with alleged kickbacks on city real estate deals; and the Rev. Wendell Anthony, who is president of the Detroit branch of the NAACP and was appointed by the mayor as a citizen representative.
The trial resumes today with testimony from Detroit businessman Christopher Jackson and others connected with a request that was before the Detroit City Council to transfer a DéjÀ Vu strip joint license.
Riddle is accused of using Conyers’ power to try to shake down the strip club owners for $25,000. It’s another deal where those paying Riddle didn’t get the City Council action they wanted. The strip club owners are suing the city in federal court over the denial of the license transfer.

Detroit Adult Entertainment: Windsor police raid body rub parlour on Gladstone Ave.

Jean said officers seized an undisclosed amount of cash and found a menu which itemized such services as 45 minutes for $90, 70 minutes for $130 and 90 minutes for $200. It also offered a special âœcouples sectionâ that advertised services for couples for between $200 and $500 for a âœ90-minute pleasure package for two.â
âœThen in fine print it said â˜a light snack of cheese, salad and a fruit platter will be served with a nice glass of wine,ââ said jean.
He said officers also uncovered information that suggests there may be similar establishments in other neighbourhoods. He invited anyone who may notice suspicious activity on their block to call police or Crime Stoppers.
A neighbour, who did not wish to be identified, said she wondered whether it was drugs or prostitution when the police arrived and was not surprised at the arrests.

Detroit Adult Entertainment: Barney Frank and the Alien Defense

January 27, 2010 at 2:49 am | In Detroit adult entertainment | No Comments

He will be presenting his idea to the Royal Society, the UK’s National Academy of Science, to urge scientists to take their heads out of the clouds and stick them in the ground. Alien evidence is more likely to appear in deserts, volcano hangouts, salt-saturated lakes, or Antarctica, than in the stars, he says. In other words, “places where ordinary life struggles to survive.”
He has it all wrong. If evidence of extra-terrestrials can only be found where ordinary life can’t survive, forget Antarctica, go to Washington. In fact, I’d start with the House of Representatives, specifically 2252 Rayburn, the office of Rep. Barney Frank.
Here’s what you need to know about Frank. If there is an alien life form on this planet, he’s it. Or knows it or talks with it or possibly dated it. Frank isn’t all bad. He enjoys long walks on the beach, dancing in the rain, running male prostitution out of his apartment, and he absolutely adores two fun-loving mortgage providing youngsters called Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. Like Papa Bear to two Baby “Housing Market Collapsing” Bears.
