Society Confidential: Good fortune for councilman’s staffers

We’ve always heard that Detroit Councilman Andre Spivey was a nice guy, but we’re impressed that he schlepped bags of Chinese take-out back to his staff the other day as a treat for working so hard all week. Not only did he buy them lunch, he went and got it. Maybe the councilman needed the walk, to work off the stress caused by this week’s strippers vs. church ladies (and men) showdown at city council. After all, he had to weigh both sides — from a business standpoint, strip clubs bring money into the city, but Spivey is a minister, so he’s also considering the moral issues.
