Detroit Adult Entertainment: Chevy Chase Is, And Always Will Be, Funnier Than You

A veteran of the original cast of Saturday Night Live, Chevy Chase was likely the most famous person on stage. “I hoped to be married and have a family and not have to count on any of this crap,” he joked. As the other actors talked about auditioning and getting their parts, Chase continued to demonstrate the physical comedy that made his Gerald Ford impression on SNL so memorable… though after a while, he let everyone have their turn. Donald Glover was discovered through his work with the sketch group Derrick Comedy. “Also, Nick Cannon said no, right?” he asked Harmon. And Gillian Jacobs was thrilled to be cast as Britta, a character much closer to her real personality than most of the other roles she’s taken. “I’ve played a lot of drug-addicted prostitutes,” she said. “Look on IMDb!”

Detroit Adult Entertainment: Twiddle De and Twiddle Dum – Look out Democrats Here We Come – Paterson & Rangel

March 4, 2010 at 8:49 pm | In Detroit adult entertainment | No Comments

Just in time for the fall elections it seems as if the new bad boys of the Democratic party are not going away nor going to get booted by the Democratic leaders. As Obama and the Democrats circle the wagons for a tough fall campaign their problems are compounded by the fact Governor David Paterson and Congressman Charles Rangel are refusing to resign from their posts thus keeping both in the public limelight and reinforcing to the public that our political establishment is corrupt.
Paterson started out bad enough when he took over as New York governor for Eliot Spitzer after a prostitution scandal cost Spitzer his governors office. Then just after taking the oath of office Paterson admitted to affairs while he was married. But the people of New York seemed to forgive him. Then he tried to use the power of his office to silence a woman who was beaten up by one of his aides.

Detroit Strip Clubs: Reasoning Together

March 4, 2010 at 11:25 am | In Detroit strip clubs | No Comments

But now, a new coalition of atheist organizations is rolling out an introductory campaign this week designed to show that there are probably more non-believers in and around “god’s city” than you might think. And this new umbrella group, the Detroit Area Coalition of Reason, is working diligently to bring together as many of them as possible.
I heard from Ruthe Milan, a coalition organizer, a few weeks ago about the campaign (which features signs like the one pictured above) and was intrigued. I grew even more interested as I watched big-name Detroit ministers try, yet again, to turn city politics into their personal sanctuaries during the debate over Detroit’s strip club ordinances a week or so back. So I reached out to Milan to find out more about the campaign and what the leaders of Detroit CoR hope to bring to public conversations currently dominated by believers.

Eight former and current Detroit police officers will get a chance to review the homicide file of stripper Tamara “Strawberry” Greene, who was tied to a long-rumored party at the Manoogian mansion and fatally shot in 2003.
The Detroit Free Press reports Norman Yatooma — the attorney representing Greene’s family in a lawsuit against the City of Detroit — had requested the officers view the file to see if any portions are missing or suggest police intentionally blocked the investigation.
March 4, Freep.com: Those allowed to view the file under order of Chief U.S. District Judge Gerald Rosen are Mike Carlisle, Odell Godbold, Alvin Bowman, Wedad Elhage, Marian Stevenson, Billy Jackson, Danny Marshall and Mike Russell.

Undercover sting stops prostitution ring at motel

When Demello’s phone repeatedly rang while she was being questioned, officers established a link to another suspect on the scene. Smith had been observed talking on a phone in her car outside. Interviews revealed she also was in on the prostitution ring and had brought an 18-year-old Roseville girl. Smith was then arrested.

The 18-year-old was released, while the 19-year-old will turn herself in once a warrant is obtained. According to police, neither teen had much experience as a prostitute.
“We hope that after this incident they may rethink their choices and find a legitimate line of work,” Anderson said in a prepared statement. “The girls identified as prostitutes in this case were not considered juveniles by law, but are awfully young to be engaging in such a dangerous activity as prostitution.”
