Lawyers seek to stop depositions in slain stripper Greene lawsuit
Associated Press
Detroit — Lawyers are returning to court in Detroit for another hearing in a civil lawsuit tied to the fatal shooting of stripper Tamara Greene.
There are several requests to stop depositions, including an interview with Carlita Kilpatrick, wife of Detroit’s former mayor.
Attorney Norman Yatooma alleges that Kwame Kilpatrick and other city officials stifled an investigation into Greene’s death. It remains unsolved seven years later.
Yatooma also wants to interview Brooke Jordan, a lawyer who formerly worked in the Michigan attorney general’s office.
Yatooma believes she might have information on the state investigation of a possible wild party at the Detroit mayoral mansion in 2002. Attorney General Mike Cox has called it an “urban legend.”

Detroit Strip Clubs: Google grants Windsor a do-over

March 23, 2010 at 7:00 am | In Detroit strip clubs | No Comments

Google will be reshooting Windsor, Ont., after a less-than-flattering view of the city taken while garbage was piling up because of a municipal strike when cameras hit the streets of that city last year.
The footage initially shot for Google’s Street View — a popular three-dimensional mapping application — also included images of a murder scene outside a Windsor strip club. Google has already removed the offending photos.

Detroit Escorts: TNA PPV Reax #2: "This PPV made the last year of WCW look like a dream"

March 23, 2010 at 5:14 am | In Detroit escorts | No Comments

Terry Kozak of Detroit, Mich. (3.0): Yes, South Detroit’s escort agency owner has returned. I had to give this PPV a 3.0 and I’m a TNA viewer exclusively. After viewing this garbage, I’m left wondering how much Vince is paying for the destruction of TNA. This was not the X Division show. Random thoughts: It was nice to see the Machine Guns win something for a change. How long did it take to think of the Nash heel turn that I saw coming weeks ago? And the Morgan twist? Seen it, done it. Angle is still a great entertainer. Doug Williams looked good, as did Rob Terry. However, what a disgrace for a main event. This PPV made the last year of WCW look like a dream. Dixie Carter better start demanding more than the joke that Hogan, Bischoff, and Russo threw out there last night. Actually reduce my 3.0 to a 2.0 because they aren’t showcasing their talent to make a PPV worthy. Disappointing!

Detroit Escorts: Clinton Danner was allegedly pimping his wife on Craigslist for years

Clinton Danner was allegedly pimping his wife on Craigslist for years
Fri., Mar. 19 2010 @ 11:46AM
The Cook County, Ill., Sheriff is shedding more light on the sordid case of Clinton Danner, a 32-year-old Minneapolis man who faces a felony pandering charge after being arrested in Chicago for pimping his wife on the Internet.
Danner was arrested at a Holiday Inn on Sunday night after police followed him from Florida. He intended to meet his wife at the hotel after a phone call in which he said he was disappointed in the amount of money she had made during the prior weekend.
Sheriff Tom Dart said Danner coerced his wife into prostitution by threatening to take away the couple’s 3-year-old child, and that he never left the girl alone with her mother. He would post ads for his wife’s services in Craigslist, and that she worked in at least eight states over the course of four years.

Detroit Escorts: Detroit As a Farm

March 23, 2010 at 5:14 am | In Detroit escorts | No Comments

Detroit was at one time a potent symbol of American industry. And its decline today, like that of America itself, seems to foreshadow the future of the American urban center. Once boasting a population of 2 million, Detroit now has less than half that amount. The once titanic U.S. auto industry is a remnant of its former self. A casualty of self-inflicted wounds and fierce competition, the U.S. auto makers have relied of late on government largesse and taxpayer philanthropy.
In a former life, I lived in Detroit as an analyst in the auto industry. It was the early nineties, my first three years after college. I could not help but notice that a sparkling downtown was surrounded by a no-man’s land– a forbidden zone, if you will, of burned out, crumbling and otherwise vacated buildings. This was a memorial of sorts, to white flight, to the riots of the sixties, from which Motown never really recovered. The sprawling suburbs prospered fabulously, as if they did not need the city, when they were actually benefiting at the city’s expense. And a corrupt black political leadership exploited the people, as pimps tend to do.

Detroit Escorts: Star up for top award

March 23, 2010 at 5:14 am | In Detroit escorts | No Comments

The Windsor Star has been nominated for a National Newspaper Award in the Special Projects category for Fallen Angels, a five-part series on Haiti and humanitarian abuses in the impoverished country.
The groundbreaking series, which included a short but powerful documentary film posted to windsorstar.-com, was written by Star reporter Don Lajoie and illustrated by assistant photo editor Rob Gurdebeke, who conducted research for a week in the dangerous slums of Haiti.
The project was overseen by editor-in-chief Marty Beneteau, who also narrated the documentary.
The series exposed humanitarian abuses at missions in Haiti following the arrest of Rev. John Duarte, former head of the Windsor-based charity Hearts Together For Haiti, and linked these abuses to the worldwide scourge of sex tourism.
“This series was the result of a lot of hard work and teamwork in our newsroom and across the entire operation,” said Star publisher Jim Venney.

Detroit Escorts: Album Review: Robin Thicke — Sex Therapy

Album Review: Robin Thicke — Sex Therapy
March 10, 2010 – 11:25pm
Robin Thicke
Sex Therapy Star Trak
Robin Thicke has something for everyone on his newest album Sex Therapy — Timberlake-esque falsettos, gangsta speak, and for those who want to get to know him a little better, he offers up his “Mr. Big.” But be warned: before you can dive into the sexy world of Thicke and his candy bar, you have to convince yourself that breaking through the shrink-wrap of an album plastered with pictures of what looks like a pimp/shameless womanizer is safe.
The decision to feature industry heavyweights like Jay-Z, Snoop Dogg, and Kid Cudi has made an otherwise run-of-the-mill R&B album stand out from the crowd. “Meiplé” is an especially good romp. Thicke will take you on a journey through French culture, Jay-Z providing the “champagne spilling out of [his] oui oui,” and the feminine shrieks and groans in the background leading one to believe the two hooligans must be having the Eurotrips of their lives. What on earth would Beyoncé think?

Detroit Strip Clubs: Windsor streets will be reshot by Google

… Since Google’s Street View images were taken in June 2009, Windsor’s Street Views include scenes of the city worker strike.Photograph by: Google Maps, The Windsor Star
WINDSOR, Ont. â Google Inc. will return to Windsor and shoot new photographs of city streets that were filled with garbage and lined with knee-high scrub when Google first came here during the protracted city strike last summer.
Google told The National Post’s Matt Hartley it is expanding the cities in Canada featured in its popular Street View program and that it will return to Windsor after hearing complaints from frustrated city officials.
The footage initially shot by Google included images of a murder scene outside a Wyandotte Street strip club. Google removed the offending images after alarm bells were triggered by Ward 2 Coun. Ron Jones.

Detroit Adult Entertainment: The phrase ’separation of church and state’ appears nowhere in the US Constitution

March 21, 2010 at 11:37 pm | In Detroit adult entertainment | No Comments

The issue goes both ways, as some students themselves are misguided on the facts. A public school teacher was scolded by her student for using religious holidays, among other examples, to demonstrate rules on capitalization, being “informed” that she was not allowed to “talk about holy things in public.”
Whether the finger-pointing student holds religious beliefs or not, it’s sad that he believes he cannot express them in public. That this lack of understanding can render a U.S. citizen the target of self-imposed gag orders goes beyond mere rhetoric. Consider the moral vacuum that would be created if everyone were to publically hide personal religious beliefs, and imagine the unsavory forces standing by ready to fill that void. Our country already faces daily assaults on its culture in the form of pornography, prostitution, abortion and beyond. How much farther would these forces go if those who live by the moral tenets on which most religions are based were one day nowhere to be seen or heard?

Detroit Strip Clubs: Pacman Fever: The Detroit Lions And The Ghosts Of Adam Jones.

March 21, 2010 at 8:12 pm | In Detroit strip clubs | No Comments

Like most NFL fiasco’s, this one starts in a strip club.
He and pop star Nelly were “making it rain,” a phrase coined for the act of throwing dozens of bills into the air and onto the stage, presumably to show the patrons and strippers in the establishment that one has money to burn.
When the girls started to pick up this bounty however, a violent altercation ensued including reports that Jones grabbed one of the women and slammed her head into the stage.  Later, one of Jones’ entourage returned and fired “payback” shots into the club, injuring three people and leading to the permanent paralysis of professional wrestler Tommy Urbanski.

Beyond this, there have been a number of other charges brought against Pacman that may indicate an irrefutable dark side including: assault charges, more disturbing relations with women (including spitting in their faces), public intoxication, and another strip club shooting incident involving his notorious entourage.
