Detroit –Crews for HBO are shooting footage at the site of the vacant Tiger Stadium today for the show “Hung.”
Trucks and actors began arriving at Michigan and Trumbull about noon. Production officials with the show confirmed they were shooting footage but declined further comment.
The second season of the dramatic comedy about a male prostitute shot partly in Metro Detroit debuts later this month.
Tiger Stadium was torn down in 2008, but a section was left standing while preservationists tried to raise money to save it. The last portion standing was demolished by September 2009.
The show, which features Metro Detroit exteriors extensively, is filmed primarily in Los Angeles. But crews have shot Detroit landmarks about five times for the upcoming season and recently were at Crosswinds Mall in West Bloomfield Township and the Detroit Institute of Arts.

Detroit Strip Clubs: State: Ponzi scheme in Detroit fleeced investors out of $1.9 million

June 11, 2010 at 6:36 pm | In Detroit strip clubs | No Comments

State regulators announced today that they’ve shut down a Detroit-based Ponzi scheme where fraud artists diverted as much as $1.9 million to their own bank accounts.
Investigators from the state Office of Financial and Insurance Regulation say Martin Royster, through his company Royster, Carberry, Goldman & Associates Inc., preyed on investors by promising outrageous returns of up to 240 percent annually in a fraudulent oil investment program.
While some of the money went to pay off investors and to keep up the scheme’s façade, the rest bankrolled a luxurious lifestyle for Royster and his accomplices, said Commissioner Ken Ross.
“Our investigation found that Royster spent his client’s money in strip bars, on lavish trips and designer clothes,” Ross said in a statement. “Consumers are reminded to call OFIR toll free — before investing — to make sure an investment product is registered.”

Detroit Strip Clubs: Yardwork: Cubs and White Sox Honor Blackhawks With Actual Winning Nights

Indians 11, Red Sox 0: Justin Masterson, who’s basically become the modern day version of Anthony Young, has put together two consecutive wins! What’s insane is that Masterson managed to dominate the very team that traded him in the form of a two-hit, complete game shutout. Unbelievable. Baseball will never make sense and neither will Barry Melrose’s goatee.
Rays 10, Blue Jays 1: If this question has been asked, then I apologize … but imagine David Price was a Yankee and Joba was a Ray? Price just won his 9th game and I haven’t heard crap about him from anyone other than fantasy addicts and those who sleep in Kurkjian/Olney-branded pajamas. He’s really good, everyone should take notice.
Reds 6, Giants 3: Listen, I’ve been in the Orlando Cabrera camp (4 for 5, 3 runs) for years, but the guy gets traded around like a boring stripper. It’s as puzzling as the shitty perfume.
