Detroit Escorts: Review: Hung – ‘Just the Tip’
June 28, 2010 at 9:24 pm | In Detroit escorts | No CommentsReview: Hung is back and has us standing at full attention. That’s what I would be saying (it’s a boner joke), but this show was not boner inducing tonight. Rather, this episode was a bit of a downer. Now, Hung has always veered more towards the emotional than the comical, but this episode seemed overly down on itself. Everyone was dirty and sad, well, except Lenore (Rebecca Creskoff), who was hot. And hot.
Tom Jane, as expected, is just as good as he was last season in a role that will undoubtedly expand his presence and offer him the rightful opportunities he deserves in TV and film. Also true to last season is Tanya (Jane Adams), who still doesn’t do anything for me. I get that she is the foil to Lenore, but that anyone who wants to be in ‘the business’ to walk around looking that frumpy is ridiculous. She was green sneakers with a skirt for crying out loud. Just looking at her makes me want to scream “this woman has no idea how to pimp a ho.”
Detroit Escorts: 4 held in murder case are due in court July 9
June 28, 2010 at 1:25 pm | In Detroit escorts | No CommentsAll four are charged with felony murder and armed robbery. In addition, Kevin Huffman, 28, of Detroit faces two charges of possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony. Huffman is believed by police to have been the shooter, according to police Lt. Nick Loussia.
Also charged with murder and armed robbery were James Randle, 35, of Detroit, Jessica Ermatinger, 23, of Canton, and Lynn Coggins, 37, of Oak Park.
A fifth woman from Detroit who was arrested has been released, Loussia said.
During a pre-exam conference Wednesday, 46th District Court Judge Shelia Johnson agreed to the request of defense and prosecution attorneys and set aside July 9 for a day-long preliminary exam, beginning at 9 a.m. for all four defendants. Attorneys said they will be presenting six-seven witnesses during the pre-exam.
The incident began when the victim, Venkata Subramanya-Reddy Cattamanchi, reportedly made contact with a woman through an escort agency, Loussia said.
Detroit Adult Entertainment: Hung 2.01 "Just the Tip" Review
June 28, 2010 at 12:50 am | In Detroit adult entertainment | No CommentsHung is such a strange series. It manages to be awkward to the point of perverseness, but it also manages to be touching and sweet, even when dealing with the theme of prostitution. Tonight’s season premiere, “Just the Tip,” managed to be just that.
Case in point: pregnant girl Claire (surprisingly not played by Emilie de Ravin, who set the bar for pregnant girls named Claire). Claire was previously unimpressed with Ray’s services, which Ray later confesses is because her pregnancy reminds himself of a better, happier time, when he was still with his wife. However, Tanya encourages him to embrace that nostalgia, and in the end, both Ray and Claire end up feeling better about themselves, as illustrated in a scene that also illustrates how the actress playing Claire is definitely not wearing a fake belly.

Hung follows Ray Drecker, a well endowed man whos down on his luck until he sort of stumbles into the world of male-prostitution. While he started off with rookie-pimp Tanya finding him clients, hes since formed a co-partnership with Lenore, who has a list of upscale women who are more than happy to share their wealth in exchange for a little fun-time with Ray. Detroit Adult Entertainment: Ypsilanti’s East Side Neighborhood is steeped in history and stately homes
June 28, 2010 at 12:50 am | In Detroit adult entertainment | No CommentsAfter the home changed hands again, Mattimoe discovered it on the market in 1979, and quickly moved to purchase it. Mattimoe and Prebys, who both worked part-time as assistants to an antique show promoter, carefully made over the yard, adding flowers, gardens and landscaping.
Indoors, their home is stuffed with antique pottery, furniture, and quirky collections of hands in the bathroom and snakes in the kitchen. The kitchen and bathroom received extensive updates, and the house was long a work in progress.
“It has always has been a refuge and a place that we thoroughly enjoy,” Prebys said. “It’s our house and it’s been fun putting together.”

Prebys said he has watched the neighborhood evolve from a slightly seedy area where flophouses, prostitution and motorcycle gangs were not unheard of to its current improved condition.

Detroit Adult Entertainment: "Just the Tip"
June 28, 2010 at 12:50 am | In Detroit adult entertainment | No CommentsLet’s start with the single biggest problem with “Just the Tip”: There’s no storyline. I usually eschew straight recaps in favor of more analysis, but in this case, I can probably give you a recap in the space of just this paragraph. Ray is being tugged between Lenore and Tanya, who are still being Lenore and Tanya, at least in terms of this business venture. At the same time, he’s having trouble satisfying a pregnant client for some reason. Both Ray and Jessica are feeling a little wistful for their marriage, and that turns out to be why he can’t give the pregnant lady what she wants – because he’s remembering having sex with Jessica when she was pregnant and how great it was. Once he realizes this, he’s able to stare wistfully toward the camera as “Fake Empire” plays. Another victory for Ray’s magic penis! Also, Tanya starts consulting with a pimp played by Lennie James about how to get her business in order, Ray is going to get fired but wants to pump up his baseball team before that happens, and Ray and Jessica go bowling.

Later, Ray and other teachers picket the school in anticipation of summer layoffs. Jessica (Anne Heche), already filled with doubts about her marriage to Ronnie (Eddie Jemison) and refusing to take calls from Lenore after her experience with the no-show gigolo (Ray), is stung by criticism from Darby (Sianoa Smit-McPhee) and Damon (Charlie Saxton). Looking to get an edge on Lenore and regain Ray’s trust, Tanya ventures into a tough neighborhood for liberating pimping advice from a real pro.

June 28, 2010 at 12:49 am | In Detroit adult entertainment | No CommentsHBO’s “Hung,” its odd little comedy about a male prostitute, returns tonight at 10 p.m. with Ray’s (Thomas Jane) life becoming even more complicated.
He’s now working for two warring pimps – the neurotic Tanya (Jane Adams) and the cold business woman Lenore (Rebecca Creskoff) – and is entangled in the personal life of a heavily pregnant woman. Then there’s his growing attraction to ex-wife Jessica (Anne Heche), who last season unwittingly tried to hire Ray to service her.
Tanya turns to a street pimp (the great Lennie James, “Jericho”) for advice on getting Ray back under her control. “Make him want the leash,” the veteran tells her.
Elsewhere, Jessica is hiding her alarm over her two teenagers’ odd closeness and finds herself receptive to Ray’s friendly overtures. That closeness is derailed next week when Jessica decides she needs some company – OK, a lot of company – when she meets with Ray.
Detroit Adult Entertainment: ‘Hung’ Season Two Premiere
June 28, 2010 at 12:49 am | In Detroit adult entertainment | No CommentsEven Hung‘s female characters searching for empowerment outside of Ray’s pants, are weighted down with the same gendered baggage. A poet and a pimp, Tanya (played brilliantly by Jane Adams) is looking for financial stability and mutual respect out of her business partnership with Ray. Ostensibly needy, she fidgets beneath a thrift store wardrobe and makes reference to her grad school salad days, but she also exhibits a calm and grace that none of the other women in Ray’s life posses. But without Ray, she can’t conceive of her own value—that is, until a wealthy client gifts her a designer sweater, one that Tanya “couldn’t possibly afford.” Standing in front of her bedroom mirror, she models it with a renewed self-confidence. However unfortunate, it stands alone as the series’ only suggestion so far of female satisfaction that doesn’t involve Ray’s penis.
