Detroit Escorts: Prelim testimony sheds new light on fatal internet date conspiracy

A clueless, highly inebriated woman who tagged along with the principals, and an observant high school student gave testimony against two men and two women who had set up an internet date for robbery, and ultimately murder.
The occasion was the preliminary examination of the four people charged in the plot. The prelim began yesterday in 46th district court. The defendants, Kevin Huffman, 28, Detroit, James Randle, 35, Detroit, Jessica Ermatinger, 23, Canton, and Lynn Coggins, 37, Oak Park, all face charges of armed robbery and felony murder in the shooting death of Indian software engineer Venkata Subba  Reddy Cuttmanci of West Bloomfied.
Cuttamanci met Ermatinger on the internet, possibly through an escort service. The pair met at a Southfield Wendy’s, and latter made plans to go up Telegraph to the E-Z Rest Motel. According to police, that’s where Ermatinger’s boyfried and others waited for Cuttamanci to show up so they could rob him. Unfortunately, they shot him to death in the process.

Detroit Adult Entertainment: BRIEF: Suspects in Southfield slaying tied to escort date in court today

The four suspects in the fatal shooting of a West Bloomfield man in what police say occurred when an escort date turned into a robbery are expected to be in Southfield’s 46th District Court this morning.
According to Southfield police, Kevin Huffman, 28, of Detroit, James Randle, 35, of Detroit, Jessica Ermatinger, 23, of Canton and Lynn Coggins, 37, of Oak Park were arraigned June 19 on charges of homicide felony murder and armed robbery charges in the June 17 death of Venkata Subramanya-Reddy Cattamanchi.
Huffman, who police have said they believe was the shooter, is also facing two counts of possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
Testimony is expected during today’s hearing before Judge Shelia Johnson, according to an official with the court
According to police, Cattamanchi set up a date wtih Ermatinger, possibly through an escort service, and the two went to the EZ Rest Motel on Telegraph Road.

Detroit Adult Entertainment: Reward offered in case of armed robbery at Warren motel

In the second room, Dwyer said, investigators believe one of the suspects accidentally discharged the gun, grazing the head of the victim, a 19-year-old Detroit man. The suspects made off with the man’s wallet, which contained $100, Dwyer said.
The suspects are described as black males in their 20s. One suspect is between 5-foot-11 and 6 feet tall and was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt over his head, a black scarf with white print covering his face and dark denim jeans. The second man was dressed in black, including a hooded sweatshirt and similar scarf covering his face. He’s believed to be about 5-foot-8 and has a heavy build, Dwyer said.
The suspects fled in a burgundy conversion van with silver running boards.
Dwyer said the motel has long been a site known for drug activity and prostitution.

Detroit Adult Entertainment: HST fuels doubletalk

On the other hand, the government claim that the tax merger would create jobs sounds quite unbelievable, but that’s political spin. As for public outcry over another tax grab, there is some merit to it, I feel that gas and utilities tax is by far the biggest sting.
On the other hand, I find dispensing one-time rebates to all taxpayers as the cheapest political trick in the book, but its timing shows incredible political savvy. Personally, I find it insulting.
However, in my opinion, consumption tax is by far the most progressive form of taxation and here is why. Regardless of how spendable income is being realized, whether through tax-free lottery winning, inheritance, robbery, prostitution, corruption, drug dealing, even tax evasion, etc., when that money crosses the cash counter, there is no escape.
