Detroit –Former Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick returned to the federal prison at Milan this afternoon without completing his testimony in the federal lawsuit brought by the family of a slain exotic dancer.
Kilpatrick’s deposition will likely be completed Aug. 5, 9, or 10, said Norman Yatooma, the Birmingham attorney representing the family of Tamara “Strawberry” Greene.
James C. Thomas, the Detroit attorney representing Kilpatrick, said the former mayor’s schedule is dictated by the U.S. Marshal Service and the deposition had to wrap up around 4 p.m. so officials could return Kilpatrick to Milan. Not all of the seven hours set aside for the deposition under federal court rules had been used.

DETROIT (WXYZ) – Former Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick is in U.S. District Court in downtown Detroit where lawyers will question him about the investigation into the rumored Manoogian Mansion party and the death of slain-stripper Tamara Green.
Kilpatrick was transported to the court house from federal prison in Milan for today’s deposition that could last as long as seven hours, say attorneys involved in the case.
Exotic dancer Tamara Greene was shot to death in 2003. It’s been rumored that Greene danced for Kilpatrick during a never-proven wild party at the Manoogian Mansion. It has also been alleged that the former mayor’s wife, Carlita Kilpatrick, assaulted Greene at the rumored party.

Detroit — Former Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick is now testifying in the federal lawsuit brought by the family of a slain exotic dancer.
Just before 10:30 a.m., Kilpatrick, dressed in a blue business suit, walked down a corridor in the federal courthouse in Detroit and into a small conference room where his deposition is taking place. Kilpatrick’s hands were cuffed behind his back, and he was flanked by U.S. marshals and his attorneys.
Already inside the room were Jonathan Bond, the 17-year-old son of slain stripper Tamara “Strawberry” Greene, and Ernest Flagg, Bond’s father.
Greene, who was linked to a rumored party at the mayor’s city-owned Manoogian Mansion in the fall of 2002, was shot to death in Detroit on April 30, 2003. Her family is suing Kilpatrick and the city, alleging they obstructed the investigation into her still unsolved murder. The defendants deny the allegations.

DETROIT (AP) – Imprisoned ex-Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick is expected to attend a deposition in a civil suit filed by the family of a slain Detroit stripper.
Kilpatrick will be taken from a federal prison in Milan, Mich., Thursday to U.S. District Court in Detroit. He’ll be questioned by Norman Yatooma, lawyer for Tamara Greene’s three children.
Their suit names the City of Detroit, Kilpatrick and other ex-city officials, saying the police investigation into Greene’s 2003 shooting was hindered.
Greene was shot to death outside her home in 2003. She’s rumored to have performed months earlier during a private party at the mayor’s Manoogian mansion residence.
Kilpatrick’s wife Carlita and father Bernard are expected to give depositions next month in Texas, where she lives.
