Detroit Adult Entertainment: Slain Windsor woman’s father prays for justice
October 30, 2010 at 2:37 pm | In Detroit adult entertainment | No CommentsPolice first charged MacDonald with Michelle’s murder in 2001. On the eve of trial in 2003, the Crown, faced with witness problems and inconclusive DNA tests, withdrew the charges.
With new evidence, Windsor police in January again charged MacDonald with second-degree murder.
Charette testified at MacDonald’s preliminary hearing. He said he is haunted to this day by the way MacDonald smiled at him as he walked past the prisoner’s dock to take the witness stand.
Charette won’t have to live through another preliminary hearing in his daughter’s murder. Since MacDonald had been committed to stand trial in the crime once before, he will proceed straight to trial this time around.
No trial date has yet been set.
“We just want this case closed,” said Charette, who has feared for years that he’d die before his daughter’s killer was punished.
Long a suspect in the murder of three Toronto prostitutes, MacDonald this week was charged with their killings.

Detroit Adult Entertainment: The Dumbest Law I Have Ever Seen
October 29, 2010 at 4:25 pm | In Detroit adult entertainment | No CommentsAre they concerned that criminals will be out dressed in costume to rob the homes? That’s a problem with any holiday and any circumstance. But it is a criminal problem in which police can be called to investigate. If someone wants to rob someone else, trick-or-treating is not going to make it easier or more difficult.
America is becoming a society that lives in fear. Fear of everything from terrorist threats to adults in children’s costumes.
We would rather put restrictions on ourselves and even violate the U.S. Constitution rather than use common sense and invest our resources in strengthening our police departments and justice systems to make prosecution of criminal acts more effective.
Instead, we prefer to feel good and pass laws that eliminate those potential fears. But it is impossible to wipe away every fear. Creating ridiculous laws only creates more and more fears.
Why not impose a curfew on everyone to keep them off the streets after 8 p.m. That would stop prostitution, drug dealers and street gang members.

Taylor is visibly upset about this throughout this episode, but keeps repeating that she knew what she got herself into when she was married to Russell. Meanwhile, Lisa, who meets Russell for the first time is quite appalled by him and cannot understand why he isn’t dragging himself to lovely, fun, vibrant and beautiful Taylor.
Once in Vegas, Kim is lonely in her hotel room all alone, and wishes she was in a relationship. They all let loose the first night and Camille goes a little crazy on the dance floor, enough so that the other wives are a little put off by her short skirt and stripper-esque dance moves.

Detroit Adult Entertainment: Katherine Butler: Room with a strongly held view
October 29, 2010 at 1:38 am | In Detroit adult entertainment | No CommentsYou can’t help wondering what happened. What was it that provoked somebody to go online and post a review urging others to avoid Detroit’s Westin Book Cadillac Hotel “unless you and your family actually enjoy sharing your evening with the local prostitutes“. Were the other patrons dressed for the Reeperbahn? Was the (anonymous) reviewer’s username by any chance, “aya_tollahtehran” and had he sat next to woman who looked like Carla Bruni? Whatever the grudge, the dissatisfied customer took revenge using the most powerfulweapon at the travelling public’s disposal: TripAdvisor.
The outburst led to litigation but, The New York Times reported this week, the case was thrown out because Trip-Advisor, which now has 35 million members, is not responsible for third-party comments under US law. It is not an end to the backlash, however, with hotels on both sides of the Atlantic preparing a legal assault in an effort to name and shame fake, malicious or libellous posters. Jon Grabowski of the impugned Detroit hotel told the newspaper that TripAdvisor was a “cesspool of negativity”.

Last year, friends invited me to their wedding in Beirut and booked me into the nearest hotel. TripAdvisor warned of both cockroaches and prostitutes.

October 29, 2010 at 1:37 am | In Detroit adult entertainment | No Comments… If there was drugs and prostitution going on, why didn’t they charge me (with those crimes)? The police out-and-out stole those people’s cars,” said Anderson, who opened the club two years ago.
More than 50 patrons who were ticketed by the Wayne County Sheriff’s Morality Unit attended a press conference this morning at the after-hours club, which charges $5 for men and $10 for women. The club does not serve alcohol, Anderson said.

The Detroit News last year highlighted cases in Wayne County where motorists’ vehicles were seized, even though authorities admitted they had committed no crime. In one instance, a man’s SUV was confiscated, even though the female police officer acting as a decoy prostitute wrote in her report that the man hadn’t solicited her.
Detroit Adult Entertainment: Private club says patrons mistreated by law enforcement; officers say that’s …
October 29, 2010 at 1:37 am | In Detroit adult entertainment | No CommentsDETROIT, Mich. (WXYZ) – The Coalition Against Police Brutality says a raid on a local club was unacceptable, vulgar and against the law.
The Beautiful Girls Private Club was raided by local law enforcement earlier this month. Investigators with the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department tell Action News they got a tip that a 14-year-old girl was stripping. An undercover investigation revealed that marijuana and ecstasy were being sold. They also say officers were offered sex for money.
But the owners of the club says nothing illegal was taking place. They deny ever selling alcohol, drugs, or permitting prostitution. They say many patrons were searched by officers in an extremely vulgar manner during the raid.
The club says it is considering a lawsuit.
