Sheen says story ‘overblown’
About 24 hours after Charlie Sheen made headlines for trashing a New York City hotel room while naked and intoxicated, the “Two and a Half Men” star dropped a couple text messages to RadarOnline.com .
“Oh my man, I’m fine,” he texted. “The story is totally overblown and overplayed as far as the reality of the scenario.”
On Monday night, Sheen, 45, did about $7,000 worth of damage to a hotel room and was later hospitalized by police, according to the New York Post. Multiple reports, including Radar’s story, claimed he was high on cocaine and with a prostitute when he trashed his room looking for his cell phone and wallet.

Detroit Adult Entertainment: Your Rooms Smell, and I Hate Them

That would have been enough to satisfy me. After all, people say a lot of false and stupid things online, and we’ve all grown used to sussing out the crazies from the non-crazies in Web comments sections. If most people describe a restaurant as middling and one crank calls it a brothel, I’d be suspicious about that guy, not the restaurant. That’s true of most such uncorroborated reviews that allege fraud or other misconduct, I’d say; businesses are understandably paranoid about the consequences of such posts, but to most patrons, they likely ring hollow.

Detroit Strip Clubs: WEEDS Re-Watch: 6×10: ‘Dearborn-Again’

Having safely arrived in Michigan, Nancy leads the gang to the home of her former math teacher, Mr. Schiff, whom everyone is convinced that she did in fact sleep with back in the day. Shane points out that hanging around her hometown might be a bad idea, what with the Amber Alert and everything. But Nancy and Andy overrule him, declaring that Dearborn is a fine place to unload hash and score fake passports, whether or not these assumptions are racist.
It’s fun to see Nancy retreating to her old self. Her attempt to run away to her friend’s house, as she did as a child, ends at what has now become a strip club. It’s Shane who suggests they look up the math teacher. He is thrilled to see her, so much so that he barely blinks when she asks if she and her itinerant gang can crash with him. He just wants them to leave his telescope and secret, locked room alone.

Liss ordered to hand over computers in lawsuit
By Brian C. Louwers C & G Staff Writer
WARREN — City Council member Mark Liss was recently ordered to submit personal and city-owned computer equipment for inspection in a federal lawsuit pitting him and the city against Warren’s only topless bar and its owners.
At issue in the case, now before Judge John Feikens in U.S. District Court, is the Warren City Council’s denial of a liquor license transfer at Jon Jon’s, on Mound Road just south of I-696.
Jon Jon’s Inc., Victoria Cerrito and Masoud Sesi — the two current owners of the liquor license in place at Jon Jon’s — and the would-be new holder of the license, Nancy Hakim, sued the city and Liss, who was named individually in the lawsuit, in Macomb County Circuit Court in June after the council voted 5-4 to deny the license transfer.

Detroit Strip Clubs: Judge slams Detroit for destroying evidence

October 27, 2010 at 12:38 pm | In Detroit strip clubs | No Comments

A federal judge slammed the city of Detroit on Tuesday after being told that disgraced former Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick’s computer was thrown out several months before he left office, potentially destroying evidence that might have been relevant to the seemingly endless lawsuit over an alleged party at the Manoogian Mansion that resulted in the death of stripper Tamara Greene. The Detroit News reports:
City lawyer John Schapka said that computer hard drives belonging to Kilpatrick and his former mistress and Chief of Staff Christine Beatty were thrown away and replaced in February 2008. The hard drives were thrown away even though the Greene lawsuit was pending along with other legal cases involving electronic communication. “I’m highly troubled by that,” U.S. Magistrate Judge R. Steven Whalen said. “The question is: What do we do?”

A federal judge said Tuesday he is “troubled” that ex-Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick’s computer was thrown away seven months before he resigned in 2008, a move that thwarts an ongoing attempt to recover e-mails between the former mayor, his mistress and other city officials.
The admission came during a routine hearing in U.S. District Court in a lawsuit involving the city and the family of Tamara “Strawberry” Greene, who allegedly performed at a rumored Manoogian Mansion party in 2002.
City attorney John Schapka said computers belonging to Kilpatrick and his former mistress, then-Chief of Staff Christine Beatty, were thrown away and replaced in February 2008 — even though the Greene suit and other cases were pending.

BIRMINGHAM, Mich. – The federal lawsuit on behalf of the family of Tamara Greene has taken yet another wild turn.
Greene was the slain stripper said to have danced at a party at the Mangooian Mansion in 2002 while Kwame Kilpatrick was mayor.
Lawyers for Greene’s family have been pressing for years for computer records and e-mails of Kilpatrick’s, his former lover and top aide Christine Beatty and Ruth Carter, then the corporation counsel.
“Finally, when there was no more room to run, we found out they destroyed evidence. They actually threw the computers away and all of the e-mails contained there on. All the communications from Kwame Kilpatrick, Christine Beatty and Ruth Carter, now a judge, then head of the law department, it’s gone,” said attorney Norman Yatooma.

Detroit Strip Clubs: Judge: Where are former Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick’s computer and emails?

October 27, 2010 at 1:00 am | In Detroit strip clubs | No Comments

DETROIT (WXYZ) – What happened to former Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick’s computer? That’s what a federal judge wants to know.
During a hearing in the lawsuit over the murdered stripper Tamara Greene, it came out that Kilpatrick’s computer was thrown out along with emails that may be evidence in the case.
Not only is Kilpatrick’s computer missing, the computer of his former mistress and Chief of Staff, Christine Beatty, is also gone.
The judge in the case is concerned that both computers were purposely destroyed. As a result of the missing computers, the judge could rule in favor of Greene’s family who sued the City of Detroit and Kilpatrick for allegedly thwarting the investigation into Greene’s death.
Greene allegedly danced at the rumored Manoogian Mansion party in 2002.

Detroit Strip Clubs: Detroit says ex-mayor Kwame Kilpatrick’s computer hard drive is gone

October 26, 2010 at 7:12 pm | In Detroit strip clubs | No Comments

DETROIT The city of Detroit says the computer hard drive belonging to former Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick was thrown out eight months before he resigned in 2008.
The Detroit News says the disclosure was made in court Tuesday while lawyers were discussing evidence in a civil lawsuit that accuses Kilpatrick of squelching the investigation of a stripper’s death.
Federal Magistrate Judge R. Steven Whalen says he’s “highly troubled” by the news. City lawyer John Schapka says the hard drive used by Kilpatrick’s chief of staff is also missing.
The missing hard drives could make it difficult to recover e-mails.
Tamara Greene’s relatives are suing Kilpatrick, claiming he stifled the investigation into her fatal shooting, which occurred in 2003. Kilpatrick denies it.
