DETROIT, Aug. 30 (UPI) — The lawyer for the family of a slain exotic dancer says the city of Detroit should have to pay for allegedly obstructing the investigation into her death.
Attorney Norman Yatooma filed an objection Monday in U.S. District Court in Detroit, asking for sanctions and a default judgment in the $150 million civil case against former Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick and the city, The Detroit News reported.
U.S. Magistrate Judge R. Steven Whalen this month ruled the city’s attorneys were responsible for hiding or destroying evidence that was ordered to be preserved in a lawsuit filed by relatives of Tamara “Strawberry” Greene, the newspaper said.
Greene was killed in 2003 in a drive-by shooting several months after she was rumored to have danced for Kilpatrick.

Detroit— A lawyer for relatives of slain exotic dancer Tamara “Strawberry” Greene wants several city lawyers to pay sanctions for failing to preserve evidence and asked a federal judge to order a default judgment against the city in a $150 million civil lawsuit.
The request by lawyer Norman Yatooma came late Monday in an objection filed in U.S. District Court in Detroit, where Greene’s relatives are suing former Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick and the city. The lawsuit accuses them of obstructing an investigation into Greene’s unsolved death.
The objection comes more than three weeks after U.S. Magistrate Judge R. Steven Whalen found the city of Detroit’s lawyers responsible for hiding or destroying evidence, and singled out one former Detroit lawyer for sanctions. The evidence was ordered to be preserved in a lawsuit filed by relatives of Greene, who was rumored to have danced at an infamous and never-proven party at the Manoogian Mansion.

Detroit— Former Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick on Monday objected to a judge’s recommendation in the Tamara “Strawberry” Greene lawsuit that jurors should be told about the city destroying evidence and receive special instructions to consider the action in a negative light when awarding damages.
The sanction would negatively impact Kilpatrick’s ability to have a fair trial, Kilpatrick lawyer James C. Thomas wrote in a filing Monday in U.S. District Court in Detroit. The filing asked Chief U.S. District Judge Gerald E. Rosen to reject the recommendation from U.S. Magistrate Judge R. Steven Whalen.

Detroit Strip Clubs: New England Patriots Look Kinda Bad in 34-10 Loss to Detroit Lions
August 29, 2011 at 3:49 pm | In Detroit strip clubs | No CommentsNew England Patriots Look Kinda Bad in 34-10 Loss to Detroit Lions
Again, it’s preseason football and therefore scoreboards about as accurate and meaningful as compliments a stripper gives you, but losing 34-10 to the Detroit Lions wasn’t very promising for the New England Patriots because well, their starters got beaten kinda badly by Motown’s starters.
Chad Ochocinco did not have a good game. He dropped a pass, and had zero catches while being thrown to four times.
-One positive is how well the team’s offense did work when Tom Brady is under duress. I would go so far as to say that his preseason numbers are as meaningless as anyone’s in the NFL at this point. He does not need a preseason, so don’t bother ever reading too much into what he does in it. MVP, 36 TDs, 4 INTs, ring a bell?

August 27, 2011 at 1:25 am | In Detroit escorts | No Comments… I just got the emails. They give a basic description of everything that’s happened. It’s a little bit scary,” Korda said. “I’m pretty safe. I walk with my friends always and, if not, I have my cell phone on me.”
“I stay on well lit streets, but I’ll definitely think twice now,” she said.
“I probably won’t go out to the libraries as late,” said student Emily Willer.
The university has increased public safety and housing security patrols on and around the campus.
“Our housing security officers will go around door-to-door in the residence halls and introduce themselves to the students, provide them with some safety tips, tell them about the blue light phones, the escort services, the night ride programs,” said housing communications director Peter Logan. “Our resident advisers, as well, in their first meetings with the students will talk to them about safety on campus.”
Detroit Escorts: Advice to parents about reducing risk of campus rape
August 25, 2011 at 5:25 pm | In Detroit escorts | No CommentsTalk about the difference between “risk reduction” and “prevention.” Morrison said women constantly hear about how they can “prevent” being raped, but the reality is that these tools are only ways to reduce the risk of an assault. True prevention of a rape depends on the behavior of the potential rapist, not the victim, said Morrison. She contends saying a woman can “prevent” being raped is setting up a victim to feel blame and to be blamed when an assault occurs.
Encourage their daughters to reduce risk in the routine. Walk in groups. Tell someone their whereabouts or plans for the day or evening. Monitor alcohol and drug consumption. Have a plan if they or friends who become intoxicated.
Become aware of campus safety features. Many colleges have programs that provide escort service from campus buildings, parking lots, etc. Continued…
