Detroit Escorts: Live: Danny Brown Seizes The Moment At The Rock Yard

Better than: Eating fried chicken with a prostitute.

There probably couldn’t be a better foil for Brown’s intense, panic laden gospel then the smooth, ultra lyrical flow of Queens rapper Action Bronson. Performing before Brown, the lyrical gourmand satiated ears and engorged appetites with his brilliant, food-obsessed take on prototypical ’90s New York hip hop. He could the be the city’s brightest new hope at continuing the legacy of boom bap, although Bronson doesn’t seem like the kind of person to bask in his own spotlight. His songs are like long paragraphs; devoid of choruses, fluid, conversational, and powered as much by instinct as intellect. Despite jokingly lamenting his fitness, Bronson rarely needed to catch his breath as he ran through numbers off his recent album Dr. Lecter. Whether talking about failed diets in “Ronnie Coleman” or tasteless encounters with prostitutes (in just about every song), Bronson’s flow was effortless, full of candor and hilarity, and crudely erudite.

Detroit Strip Clubs: Detroit Free Press Michael Rosenberg column

August 22, 2011 at 3:37 pm | In Detroit strip clubs | No Comments

When Chesney was done singing (I’m told the crowd loved his encore rendition of “You Can’t Name One of My Songs, Can You, Rosenberg?”) and the Tigers were done reminding the Indians they are a sports team from Cleveland, the crowds let out.
After several minutes of close examination, I started to believe I could tell the difference between Tigers fans, dressed in Tigers hats, uniforms and T-shirts, and the Chesney fans, who were all wandering the streets, trying to hail a horse.
I have never seen so many people in cowboy hats. What do the really dedicated fans bring to a country-music concert? Cattle prods? That would certainly help with crowd dispersal.
It’s not enough to buy a ticket to an event. You have to show you really care by dressing like the people performing. This is true for sporting events, concerts and “Star Wars” movies, but as far as I know, this rule does not apply to strip clubs.

Teen says she was forced into prostitution
Published: Aug. 19, 2011 at 4:40 PM
DETROIT, Aug. 19 (UPI) — A teenager described weeks of working as a prostitute, beaten and raped over and over, during a hearing for a Detroit man charged with sexual trafficking.
The girl, now 15, testified that Sedrick Leman-Isaac Mitchell, 32, picked her up when she was a 14-year-old runaway, The Detroit News reported. Mitchell, also known by the street name “Gruesome,” is the first person to face charges under Michigan’s new human trafficking law and is also charged with rape and a long list of other crimes.
“We had to come home with at least $200. If I didn’t, he would beat me,” the girl said.
Investigators said Mitchell imprisoned the 14-year-old and a 15-year-old. He allegedly choked the older girl when she resisted having sex with him.

Detroit Escorts: Walker: Smile, you’re on Motown surveillance cam

August 19, 2011 at 1:25 am | In Detroit escorts | No Comments

In February 1996, my vehicle was broken into on a busy Saturday afternoon while it was parked on Fort near Shelby in downtown Detroit. Someone had used a spring-loaded device to burst the entire back window, allowing the burgling of a $25 office stereo. Thankfully, the considerate reprobate ignored at least $100 in books.
In the 15 years or so since my drama, crime has apparently worsened in downtown Detroit to such an extent police are planning to monitor the area with 350 cameras. One would think a former victim of crime would think this a good idea.
Not so fast.
Reason magazine’s Steve Chapman reported a year ago that Britain’s 4 million surveillance cameras resulted in no reduction in the nation’s crime, according to a 2005 government report. Chapman further reports San Francisco’s cameras “significantly reduced property crime while having no effect on violent crime, drug dealing, prostitution, or vandalism. So take comfort: When a mugger knocks you over the head, he won’t steal your hubcaps.”
