Detroit Escorts: Michigan attorney general charges organizers of prostitution ring

November 30, 2011 at 7:36 pm | In Detroit escorts | No Comments

Schuette said it is alleged Mustaffa Muhammad, together with his now estranged wife, Tara Muhammad, launched the prostitution ring called “Detroit Pink” in 2006.   The couple allegedly set up Detroit Pink as an online escort service with approximately two dozen prostitutes

The two women were the most trusted prostitutes who aided Mustaffa in his duties.  Siebert and Jemison allegedly collected proceeds from other prostitutes for Mustaffa, posted ads for other prostitutes and provided transportation for other prostitutes.  In addition, Jemison and Siebert continued to prostitute for Mustaffa.
Sherrill allegedly served as the “computer guy,” primarily responsible for posting ads for Mustaffa’s girls and occasionally transporting girls for dates.  Sherrill is reported to be living in a house provided by Mustaffa, and Schuette alleges that his work in posting ads for Mustaffa’s prostitutes is in exchange for room and board. While Mustaffa lives with several of his prostitutes in Detroit, most of his prostitution activities allegedly took place in Southfield hotels.

Detroit Strip Clubs: 31 Things We Learned From the ‘Beverly Hills Cop’ Commentary

November 30, 2011 at 4:49 pm | In Detroit strip clubs | No Comments

According to Brest, the stripper in the scene where Axel, Rosewood, and Taggart are at the club together was a dance named Mouse. She was evidently a legendary stripper, and the song playing in this scene, “Nasty Girl” by Vanity 6, was the actual song Mouse danced to. You don’t get a lot of director’s commentary talking about the strippers they use in their movies. I felt it necessary to mention it here. Point Brest. Point breast. I’m five.

In the scene where Axel is explaining to Lt. Bogomil, played by Ronny Cox, what went down at the strip club, Brest notes it was a completely closed set with no oxygen or central air being pumped in. Since it was the middle of August, the set was ridiculously hot and everyone was extremely sluggish. Brest mentions Murphy, who had hardly ever drank coffee in his life, had a cup of coffee before shooting the scene, and it sent him off the wall. If you look closely, you notice Murphy’s eyes twitching quite a bit in this scene. Also look closely, and you’ll notice John Ashton cracking up through the entire scene.

Detroit Strip Clubs: Why the hate for Nickelback?

November 30, 2011 at 3:12 am | In Detroit strip clubs | No Comments

What is it about Nickelback, who played at the Grey Cup on Sunday as well, that makes them a lightning rod for hate? I spent part of Thursday on TV trying to explain why everyone cites Nickelback as The Band You Must Despise™. Emails and tweets on the subject made the answer sound self-evident. âœTheyâre hated because they suck!â Another responded âœPeople hate Nickelback for the same reasons they hate Justin Bieber and NKOTB.â Neither really answered the question.
Frankly, Iâve never understood the source of this venom. Is it because Nickelback writes carefully formulated arena rock? Maybe itâs their super radio-friendly pop-rock ballads. Is it because theyâve sold 50 million records? Or does all this negativity spring from the image of their fans, people often characterized by haters as a) having very poor and/or unsophisticated taste in music; or b) pickup-drivinâ working-class rednecks who canât wait to spend their paycheques on strippers and beer?

Detroit Adult Entertainment: Auto parts recycling gears up

November 29, 2011 at 8:13 pm | In Detroit adult entertainment | No Comments

Wild has devoted 45 years to improving the salvage business, but he said his work didn’t take off until he joined forces with Soave Enterprises in 1997 and worked with the company to grow a new division in auto recycling. The Parts Galore branding began in 2004.
Now the company hopes to build outlets in Ohio and Florida, upgrading their existing scrap yards.
“We set up a business model with a layout of the yard and functional buildings,” Wild said. He often picks employees from the fast food business because they are used to working weekends and odd hours and hustling. They undergo a background check that includes a drug screening and a physical to assess ability to lift heavy parts.
But the business creates unique challenges. Soon after the Eight Mile store opened in 2005, an adult entertainment complex opened next door. Prostitutes began slipping between the cars offering to conduct business in the back seats, Wild said.

Detroit Adult Entertainment: Was NHL’s Thanksgiving Showdown experiment a success?

November 29, 2011 at 8:13 pm | In Detroit adult entertainment | No Comments

For a first-time affair that doesn’t feature an intense rivalry or Sidney Crosby(notes), and isn’t being played in an open-air stadium, it’s a respectable rating; especially with No. 1 LSU vs. No. 3 Arkansas and holiday shopping as the rivals.
But big picture, it reveals the NHL’s ultimate challenge on network television: Making regular-season games compelling, appointment viewing without the benefit of gimmickry. They haven’t cracked that code yet.
The only demerit we’d hand out to NBC — besides the clichés that populated our drinking game — was something frankly out of its hands: The NHL and NBC used Tim Thomas(notes) to help pimp the matchup in pregame hype, including a media conference call. Instead, Claude Julien sat him for Tuukka Rask(notes), playing Thomas in a rivalry game against the Buffalo Sabres on Wednesday instead. Again, not NBC’s fault, but that’s the risk you run with players who aren’t in the lineup everyday.

Detroit Adult Entertainment: South Lyon East High School took audiences by storm with ‘Singin’ in the Rain’

November 29, 2011 at 8:13 pm | In Detroit adult entertainment | No Comments

Given its original incarnation as a flashy, exciting, landmark 1952 Hollywood musical film, “Singin’ in the Rain” calls for effective and strong dance numbers. In South Lyon East’s production, various period dance styles—from tap to ballroom, vaudeville to burlesque—were incorporated into the show’s many dance numbers. Choreographers Melissa Kupper Rapela and Tina Evans designed highly entertaining choreography. The tap dancing was especially impressive, in musical numbers like “Moses Supposes” and the finale “Singin’ in the Rain (reprise),” which featured the synchronized full company tap-dancing in yellow raincoats. The costume design by Jill Stevenson was strictly period and nicely reflected the various characters and their temperaments.
Good choreography must be executed by able and adept performers, and “Singin’ in the Rain” featured several of these. The title number, “Singin’ In the Rain,” was remarkably performed by a beaming Don Lockwood (Noah Bizer), who nimbly danced on the slick surface while turning tricks with his umbrella. Kathy Selden (Renae Bowers) was also a strong dancer, deftly stepping and turning in “All I Do is Dream of You” with an excellent female ensemble.

Detroit Escorts: The Tale of Two Detroits

November 27, 2011 at 7:37 pm | In Detroit escorts | No Comments

Since she doesn’t have a car she asked if we could meet her at her place. Mondays are her day off from her G.E.D. program, she said. And she would prefer to not have to take the two-hour bus ride each way if it was all right with me.
Lavie’s apartment was threadbare. There were two pieces of furniture: a couch in the living room without back cushions and a mattress on the floor of her bedroom. I asked her where I could throw away my empty Starbucks cup, and she said there was a box in the kitchen I could put it in. “Sorry I don’t have a proper garbage can.”
She went on to describe how she’s been homeless her whole life, bouncing from shelters to foster homes to friends’ couches to abandoned houses. When she turned 18, she had to fend for herself, and learned to hustle for food money. When I asked her what her hustle was, she said “Anything it took. Selling drugs. Scamming food stamps. Prostitution.”
