Favre talked about how he relieved pressure during timeouts by singing in the huddle.
It was funny stuff, off the cuff, which was typical of Favre. The story made headlines the next day.
Unfortunately for the Packers, the Broncos had a better punch line — a 31-24 victory.
Bare facts
: The Patriots got their second Lombardi Trophy for their 32-29 win over the Panthers in Super Bowl XXXVIII, but Janet Jackson stole the show with her halftime performance.
In a duet with Justin Timberlake, Jackson’s bodice popped open, momentarily exposing a naked body part. It created a national uproar, and Jackson later apologized.
Buffalo Bills owner Ralph Wilson reacted with a sense of humor. When asked a couple months later what he thought about the halftime show, Wilson replied quickly: “You mean the stripper?”

The encouragement is hardly necessary. Before the strip club’s doors even opened for the night, the reservation list was seven pages long. People had come for this — a chance to win a trophy engraved “Dwarf-Tossing Champion.”

At the end of the evening, as Da Silva heads out for the casino, he assesses where his moral compass landed. “I feel no more socially guilty than when I normally come out of a strip club.”

Detroit Strip Clubs: Dwarf-tossing makes reappearance in Windsor

January 30, 2012 at 2:49 pm | In Detroit strip clubs | No Comments

Hundreds cheered loudly at a Windsor strip club on the weekend as a local dwarf dressed in a baby costume was repeatedly catapulted through the air.
The event, that took place at a packed Leopard’s Lounge and Broil, was popular with hundreds signed up to participate.
The dwarf, a Windsor resident whose stage name is Tripod, refused an interview.
In pairs, participants took hold of a harness that was attached to the dwarf and threw him as far as they could. The boisterous crowd laughed, clapped and applauded while the four-foot, eight-inch man was chucked across the stage. Five air mattresses were laid out to ensure a safe landing.
The competition has drawn a swarm of negative comments, with critics citing issues of human rights and dignity. But Leopard’s general manager, Barry Maroon, said he sees nothing wrong with the event.

A 32-year-old stripper, Kahlua, said the toss was similar to her job.

Detroit Adult Entertainment: Bands rock Woodruff’s

Lead singer, Kody Klein, who is also the News Editor for The Eastern Echo, served as the ring master to The Rabbit Done Died’s wild circus charade. Amidst the carnival madness, the band produced music of an indefinable genre somewhere between jazz, blues, doo-wop and rock.
With the band’s eight instruments and four singers, there’s a lot of variety.
“We can mix it up,” said The Rabbit Done Died drummer, Andrew Hoepner. “We’ve got lots of different sounding songs which makes it easy to ignore the front man, who is easily the worst part of the band. We like reinterpreting older genres in a newer context.”
Between swapping instruments, the band spit provocative lyrics about prostitutes, smoking and suicide, licking the lobes of listeners; all the while, daring the audience to say “when.”

Last week’s headlines were filled with more controversy over Mayor Janice Daniels, a police investigation of an armed robbery at the Red Roof Inn and the questionable future for Troy massage parlor. Check out what you may have missed.

Recovery Spa on East Maple Road probably won’t be reopening any time soon. At Monday’s meeting, City Council voted to revoke a 2011 massage parlor license at Recovery Spa. The vote affirmed the city’s decision to close the business last December after employees were charged with prostitution and police discovered several other ordinance violations. Recovery Spa has submitted an application for a license renewal and the city has 60 days to approve it, pending a background investigation and the adjudication process.

WINDSOR, Ont. â Despite repeated calls for its ban, the sport of dwarf tossing has once again landed in Canada.
Windsor, Ont., strip club Leopard’s Lounge & Broil is hosting the Saturday event, in which competitors vie to see who can throw a little person the farthest.
“There’s nothing provincially, and no bylaws here, that would prevent this from going on,” said Windsor city councillor Ron Jones, who was alerted to the upcoming event by an angry constituent.
The event is being promoted on a sign outside the club.

What are we talking about?A starry new West End production of François Archambault’s satire, a dark comedy in which a yuppie dinner party spirals out of control.
Elevator Pitch
A supermodel comes to tea ….
Prime Movers
Actor and director Matthew “Harry” Burton takes the latter job for this; a friend and somewhat of a protégé of Harold Pinter’s, he had a debut directorial hit with the playwright’s The Dumb Waiter, also at the Trafalgar Studios.
The Stars
The big celebrity news is that it will star supermodel Agyness Deyn. The chisel-boned Brit will be making her stage debut, although she has acted on screen as a strong-willed stripper in the movie Pusher, soon to be released.
