MONTROSE TOWNSHIP, Michigan — Township resident Jennifer Corcoran would like to see a little more decorum with the infamous Booty Lounge Bus that’s parked across the street from her Seymour Road driveway.

The Booty Lounge Bus sits in the driveway of Travis Hayward’s home in Montrose Township as the co-owner of Detroit’s most controversial strip club on wheels.
“It’s their choice to have the vehicle, but they should be a little modest about it,” said Corcoran, 33, who noticed the bus roughly a week ago. “I thought it was a joke at first, but it’s been there a little too long for that.”

That’s OK. All that you’re feeling is normal. The Dirty Show, for gays and straights and everyone in between, is meant to provoke.
“The ‘Equus’ piece is a perfect example,” said Christopher Leadbitter, the performance director of Detroit’s best attended erotic art exhibition and performance art extravaganza. The Dirty Show will feature art from more than 200 local, national and international artists on Feb. 10-12, 14, 17 and 18 at Bert’s Warehouse Theatre in Detroit.
This year’s Stripper Theater portion of the show features selected scenes from “Equus” – such as the one teased above – written by British playwright Peter Shaffer in 1973 and revived in 2007 in London’s West End Theatre, starring Daniel Radcliffe (aka Harry Potter) in one of the leading roles.

Detroit’s Booty Lounge bus parked in Mid-Michigan

GENESEE COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -
While the owners of a party bus and the city of Detroit continue a legal dispute, the controversial stripper bus now sits in one local community.
According to a Flint Journal report, the bus is parked on a quiet rural street in Genesee County’s Montrose Township.
Several months ago, Detroit police briefly impounded the bus they say operated illegally as a strip club for reveling football fans at a popular tailgating spot. Bus operator Joe Parsons said he has a lawyer investigating what permits the bus needs, but he said Detroit has no ordinance against “mobile entertainment clubs.”
The Flint Journal reported that co-owner of the bus, Travis Hayward of Montrose Township, brought it home for maintenance work before it heads out on a nationwide tour.

The Booty Lounge, a school bus modified into a mobile party bus with strippers that was briefly seized by Detroit police in October, gets its Genesee County ties from Travis Hayward, of Montrose Township. Hayward, who works as a maintenance man for an apartment complex, owns and operates the bus along with Joe Parsons of Woodhaven. The two hope to make the bus their full-time jobs.

Made in Detroit president Tommy Duback said that the company has only seven full-time employees and uses between eight and 10 different manufacturers for their products. He told the local newspaper that they plan on looking into more stateside-manufactured textiles in the future.
Kid Rock celebrated his 40th birthday last year by playing a sold-out show in his hometown of Detroit, Michigan. During the three-hour concert, the rock star presented several local charities with a $100,000 check.
“I really care about what people think of me in this town, because my son is here, my family is here, my roots are here,” he said of Detroit at the time. “I don’t give a [expletive] anywhere else, but here I’m very conscious of it.”
The country and rock artist, whose real name is Robert James Ritchie and who goes by “Bobby,” is known for his hit 1999 head-banging hit “Bawitdaba” and his wild concerts that often feature stripper cages.

Then Texas Hold ‘Em, a variation of poker, exploded in popularity in 2003 when an amateur named Chris Moneymaker won $2.5 million in the heavily televised World Series of Poker in Las Vegas.
The next year, nonprofit groups convinced Michigan to allow them to use Texas Hold ‘Em as a cash game to raise money.
Just like that, Kiwanis clubs and the Jaycees had their own moneymaker.
“It’s fantastic,” said Bob Sullivan, president of the Democratic Club of Taylor. “I didn’t realize that many people are addicted to gambling.”
A casino feel
In charity poker rooms, the nonprofits oversee the money and recordkeeping while private operators do everything else — providing workers, equipment, advertising and the location. They split the profits.
The card rooms in Metro Detroit are mostly in bowling alleys, pool halls and bars. Others are at a police lodge, a harness racing track and a strip club, which closed after just two months.

The House also passed, by voice vote, a resolution that would cut House committee budgets by an average of 6 percent in 2012. That reduction, combined with a 5 percent cut last year, would produce savings of $28 million.
The House also voted 395-27 for a bill that would ban use of welfare money in gambling casinos, liquor stores and adult entertainment places such as strip clubs. The House passed a similar provision in December, but it never made it through the Senate.
Many states issue welfare recipients Electronic Benefits Transfer cards with cash benefits. The cards are supposed to assist families with basic needs, including food, shelter and clothing. The cards also provide a way of tracking where benefits are withdrawn, and that’s how states discovered the withdrawals at casinos, liquor stores and strip clubs.

The most common hyperbole arguing for holding this event has been that, because it is an act between consenting adults, it should be tolerated. That because there is an exchange of money, it makes this show right.
Of course, these are empty positions. If a business, for example, were to replace the term “dwarf” with “black,” or “Jew,” or another identifiable subculture, I am almost certain there would be more response on this, no matter what the price.
Further, from what I can tell, there appears to be only one “dwarf ” being tossed. Does this gentleman speak for all “dwarfs” or just his own short-term cash needs?
The owners of Leopard’s Lounge and Broil strip club in Windsor are wilfully ignorant and should be ashamed of themselves. It hardly says anything positive about Windsor.

Bare facts
: The Patriots got their second Lombardi Trophy for their 32-29 win over the Panthers in Super Bowl XXXVIII, but Janet Jackson stole the show with her halftime performance.
In a duet with Justin Timberlake, Jackson’s bodice popped open, momentarily exposing a naked body part. It created a national uproar, and Jackson later apologized.
Buffalo Bills owner Ralph Wilson reacted with a sense of humor. When asked a couple months later what he thought about the halftime show, Wilson replied quickly: “You mean the stripper?”
