Detroit Escorts: Medical tests save escort from life term in client’s death, attorney says

May 7, 2012 at 6:13 pm | In Detroit escorts | No Comments

Oakland County Chief Medical Examiner Ljubisa Dragovic said tests on heart tissue in such drug-related deaths are not routinely run and are done at the discretion of the pathologist working the case.
“The pathologist felt that other information provided — the heroin purchased and used by the man — pointed to it as the factor or a contributing factor in his death and further tests were not required,” said Dragovic. “We went back as soon as we had more information. Now it appears that it should have been done at the time. But you cannot run those kinds of test on every drug overdose case.”
Toby said Vanwasshenova worked for a Dearborn-based escort service for about a year to support her four children. For a fee, Vanwasshenova would be instructed by her boss — who was also her landlord — to meet with clients and perform sexual services, the attorney said.

Detroit Adult Entertainment: Michigan man charged in probe of dead women tied to escort services

May 6, 2012 at 11:12 am | In Detroit adult entertainment | No Comments

Detroit police Chief Ralph Godbee later explained that one reason murder charges haven’t been filed is that, while all the bodies were found in his city, the women weren’t necessarily killed there. Legally, a charge is filed in the jurisdiction where the crime occurred.
“We have reason to believe that the deaths did not occur within the city of Detroit proper,” Godbee told reporters Saturday. “Anybody (who) thinks Detroit is their dumping ground, they’re sadly mistaken.”
Hunt, 25, and Landers, 24, were found December 19 in the trunk of Landers’ Chrysler 300. Days later on Christmas Day, the bodies of Curtis and McCrary were located in the trunk of a car that had been set ablaze.
At least three of the women placed advertisements dealing with “prearranged adult dating services” on Backpage.com, Godbee told reporters last December. The police chief called the ads — where postings on the escort section cost $1 — as “borderline prostitution.”

Detroit Strip Clubs: ‘Little Voice,’ Bring Big Dreams To Planet Ant in Detroit

May 5, 2012 at 11:24 am | In Detroit strip clubs | No Comments

Cartwright’s story addresses a universal theme – the search for love – and does so through a mother and daughter (and associated friends and newcomers) who are as opposite as opposite can be. Set in northern England in the 1980s, Mari (Linda Ramsay) is an aging, faded beauty whose hunt for a man knows no limits. Desperate to be taken care of, Mari will hook up with pretty much anyone with male genitalia, hoping he’ll be “the one” – and not just “the one for tonight.” (But in the meantime, that’ll do.) Her latest pursuit is Ray Say (Joel Mitchell), a small time talent agent – about half of whose clients are strippers. Arriving at Mari’s home and about to get to know each other in a rather intimate way, Ray hears a voice coming from upstairs. It belongs to Mari’s daughter, nicknamed LV (Inga R. Wilson) for “Little Voice,” who spends hours listening to and mimicking the stack of LPs (long playing album …

Detroit Adult Entertainment: Cubeta ‘13 reflects on urban world tour, from Detroit to Hanoi

May 4, 2012 at 10:13 pm | In Detroit adult entertainment | No Comments

Rather than being fully immersed in one culture, Cubeta experienced a spectrum of urban environments. Throughout the semester, his program held a language class each morning to teach students language survival skills in Portuguese and Vietnamese.
After spending two weeks in Detroit, four weeks in Sao Paolo, one week in Curitiba, five weeks in Cape Town and five weeks in Hanoi, Cubeta said that he forged strong connections with the people of each city.
Cubeta stayed with host families in each locale, and said he formed the closest bond with his host dad, Alé, in Sao Paolo, whom Cubeta described as “one of the most ridiculous people I’ve ever met.”
“To describe him succinctly, he was an intellectual guy. He was deeply troubled by the inequalities of the world,” said Cubeta. “He was deeply religious, incredibly caring and generous, and yet in his mannerisms and speech he sounded and acted exactly like Borat. I could not stop laughing. He called prostitutes ’sexy workers.’”

Detroit Adult Entertainment: 3 sentenced on kidnapping, drug charges

May 4, 2012 at 12:01 am | In Detroit adult entertainment | No Comments

When the contact entered the home to make the purchase, she was robbed by someone inside the house, McQuade said in a statement.
After Brown learned his money had been taken, he grabbed the Detroit contact’s female friend, told her the woman would be held until his money was returned, then forced the friend into the car and drove away.
When the victim saw a passing police car and tried to get help, Conerly stabbed her in the thigh with a knife.
The kidnap victim’s hands and feet were bound with duct tape, a belt tied around her neck and a black leather bag placed over her head until the group was out of Michigan.
En route to Mississippi, Monson and Brown demanded the victim’s mother repay the stolen drug money as ransom, threatening to force her daughter into prostitution until she earned the money.
