Yet his vehicle was seized after the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department checked his record and saw a prior conviction for solicitation.
In another instance a woman’s 2-year-old Chrysler Sebring was seized after she picked up a co-worker at a bank. Police said the co-worker had stood on the street corner making eye contact with passing motorists in the same manner a prostitute would. Neither women, both Red Cross employees wearing work badges at the time, were charged with a crime. However, the car was seized anyway and the owner paid more than $1,400 in impound, towing and storage fees.
