Detroit Escorts: Police say women acted as agents for teenage prostitutes

MADISON HEIGHTS — Two Macomb County women face felony prostitution charges after police said they acted as agents for two teenage prostitutes caught in an undercover sting at a Red Roof Inn motel.

The two older women — Jenny Lynn Demello, 31, of Warren, and Kelly Marie Smith, 45, of Center Line — were arraigned Tuesday in Madison Heights 43rd District Court. Demello is charged with accepting the earnings of a prostitute, a 20-year felony, and a misdemeanor count of marijuana possession. Smith is charged with transporting a prostitute, a 20-year felony, and misdemeanor marijuana possession.

Police said they identified Smith as part of the prostitution ring after they spotted her sitting in a car outside the motel. Smith had transported the Roseville teen to the motel where she and the other teen were working as prostitutes, police said.
