Detroit Escorts: Suspects Due In Court In Death Of Ret…

8/26/09 – Four people charged in the murder of a retired Brighton doctor who died after stumbling into a restaurant bleeding from wounds are to appear in court today. 24 year old Darrell Harris, 32 year old Teanna Keens, 19 year old Stephanie Cross and 24 year old Kamico Jackson are each charged with one count of open murder and armed robbery in the death of Dr. Gary Ceresnie, who had practiced in Brighton and retired last year. Prosecutors say the retired podiatrist was the victim of a street con, known as a “Murphy Scam” in which women posing as prostitutes lure prey somewhere to be ambushed and robbed. Police say the two women appear to have set Ceresnie up to be beaten and robbed by the two men but it escalated to murder. The 54-year-old Farmington Hills resident died August 9th in a neighborhood on Detroit’s southwest side after collapsing inside a restaurant with cut wounds. (JM)
