Detroit Escorts: Two women get prison for retired doctor’s murder
December 17, 2009 at 1:48 pm | In Detroit escorts | No CommentsTwo Detroit-area women were sentenced Tuesday to prison for their part in murdering a retired Brighton podiatrist.
Teena Keens and Stephanie Cross earlier pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in connection to the Aug. 9 death of Dr. Gary Ceresnie and were sentenced to 10-15 years and seven to 15 years in prison, respectively.
Ceresnie collapsed and died Aug. 9 after stumbling into a Detroit restaurant. An autopsy said Ceresnie died of a heart attack brought on by a beating.
According to testimony at an earlier hearing, Ceresnie traveled from his Farmington Hills home to McGraw Road, in a southwestern Detroit neighborhood known for prostitution. He reportedly offered $40 each to Keens, 32, and Cross, 19, for sex, but instead the women lured Ceresnie to their former home on St. John Street, where Darrell Harris and Kamico Jackson, both of Detroit, were hiding.
