Christine Beatty finishes deposition in stripper case

Birmingham — Christine Beatty, who was chief of staff to former Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick, wrapped up her deposition late this afternoon in the federal lawsuit brought by the family of slain exotic dancer Tamara “Strawberry” Greene.
Beatty gave the first part of her deposition July 28, but between two to three of the allotted seven hours were scheduled for completion today. The deposition took place at the Birmingham office of Beatty’s attorney, Jeffrey Morganroth, who said it wrapped up around 6 p.m.
“Ms. Beatty has absolutely no information or facts that would support any of their claims,” Morganroth said after the deposition ended.
Greene, who was linked to a rumored party at the mayor’s Manoogian Mansion in the fall of 2002, was shot to death in Detroit on April 30, 2003. Her family is suing Kilpatrick and the city, alleging they obstructed the investigation of her unsolved murder. The defendants deny the allegation.
