Detroit Strip Clubs: Cox calls Manoogian party allegations ‘bold-faced lies’

The affidavit says guests at the party included Cox, who was then an assistant prosecutor in the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office. Cox described the claims as ludicrous.
Stu Sandler, Cox’s campaign manager, said in a statement that City Councilman Gary Brown, who won a whistle-blower suit against Kilpatrick after Brown lost his job for looking into the rumored Manoogian party and other allegations, described Kay’s allegations as “absolutely not” credible.

Greene, a stripper who was linked to the rumored party at the mayor’s official residence in the fall of 2002, was shot to death in Detroit on April 30, 2003. Her family is suing the city and Kilpatrick, alleging they obstructed her murder investigation for political reasons.

Kay said he saw Cox receiving a “lap dance” from a stripper and saw the former mayor’s wife, Carlita Kilpatrick, assault Greene at the party, punching her and striking her with a leg from a broken table.
