– As the Detroit City Council readies to resume debate this week over the possible regulation of strip clubs within the city, at least one council member advises the city proceed carefully.
Councilman Gary Brown tells WWJ that even though he likes the concept of establishing a “red light” district for relocating adult clubs away from neighborhoods, he doesn’t believe such a move would be legal.
I think it’s unconstitutional to come up with a red light zone in order to force strip clubs into one particular area. An overflow crowd is expected tomorrow for a planned public hearing on the strip club issue.
