November 12, 2009 at 1:24 pm | In Detroit strip clubs | No CommentsMichigan Attorney General Mike Cox yesterday continued his crusade to clarify his 2003 investigation into a rumored Kwame Kilpatrick party at the Manoogian Mansion in Detroit, turning to the media after a judge denied a request to allow him testify openly in court.
Cox, who is for governor, talked with Detroit News columnist Laura Berman, answering another series of questions related to his investigation.
On whether his investigation turned up problems in Kilpatrick’s administration: Management was bad, expenses out of control and one bodyguard was paid for 64 hours of consecutive overtime. But, “Criminal law isn’t supposed to fix problems like officials who act high-handed or to correct bad bureaucracies,” Cox said.
On what he’d do differently if he had another chance: “Maybe we would have interviewed Carlita Kilpatrick,” he said, “even though there was no prosecutorial reason to do so.” According to the rumors, Carlita dropped in on the party and attacked stripper Tamara “Strawberry” Greene.
