Society Confidential: Saving the boat races; Motown Museum energized; strippers to congregate

This Monday, there’ll be a veritable million strippers march — well dozens, anyway — more ecdysiasts than have been seen in downtown Detroit since the old days of the Stone Burlesk on Woodward, at a 3 p.m. public hearing on strip clubs in the 13th floor auditorium of the Coleman A. Young municipal building (set your watch, boys).
You won’t see Bouncing, Beautiful Babbette , Machine Gun Kelly or the Golden Girl from the Golden West from the old Stone — we presume they’re in the strippers‘ retirement home — but there will be a large posse of dancers in attendance. Some of the proposals being argued: that strippers must stay on the stage (no lap dances) and that no more clubs be allowed on Eight Mile.
