LINCOLN PARK — The state Liquor Control Commission has approved a liquor license transfer for a controversial strip club.
The Larry Flynt Hustler Club at John A. Papalas and Outer Drive could open as early as next week now that the state has signed off on the matter, club attorney Frank Palazzolo said.
The three-member commission granted the transfer Tuesday and announced it Wednesday afternoon.
Palazzolo said an estimated 150 to 200 jobs will be created from the operation, including for dancers, cooks, bartenders and security.
“All the steps have been taken by the licensee and by the community and everyone is looking forward to moving forward with it,” he said.
“There are 150 people excited about a new job and are calling every day to see when they can start. In our economy, taking 150 out of the unemployment line is a positive impact.
